Hey everyone as most of you may know my fiance's Visa was approved March 27th ,but we needed to wait for some extra test results that were taken due to the fact my fiance lung had a shadow that showed on the screen test so this when it comes to Consular situations the first thing they want to know if is Tuberculosis, well to get this types of results is from 8-9 weeks YES!! stressing huh.. well the test results were ready May 27th and by May 28th the US Consulate confirmed to me that the case was under final review,my concern is that on CEAC does not show any update what so ever the last update was on April 11th I just need to know if this is normal at all oh and by the way the officer stayed with my fiance's passport same day of interview not like others that they get back passport and have to go to process depositing passport again after getting results..Please help me we desperate and stressing out alot over this situation

I don't have experience with this type of specific situation but I would be very hopeful for the fact that they KEPT his passport. Could you call the Visa Specialist to inquire since the case is at the Consulate?

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

What's the difference between visa specialist and department of state? What are the phone numbers to both? I would like to call them to see what is happening with my case as well. I emailed the consulate last Monday and then resent the email on Wednesday and have not received an email back.

Im having the same issue. Our interview was in feb and we were approved. They kept the passport and said they were waiting for the med exams. We paid domex and left to celebrate. Med exams came back april 9 and we emailed the consulate and they said they did rexeive and were waiting for it to be reviewed. Its been updated but status still on ap. Yesterday it finally said ready but it mentioned an interview. Which has me confused because we already went. And today it updated again but still says ready. Any idea of whats going on? Dont feel down. Im here with u

Mirtha I feel you but my wedding is due Aug 16th is around the corner ? Im a little scare because time is running ....querida I think your visa is about to be mailed out,My best suggestion is to contact Us embassy so they can give you detailed instructions about what the officer may need im sure they can help you because you have pass the 6 weeks timeframe they provide contact them asap and explain situation. In my case I dont have any other option but sit and wait because they are not allow to investigate further unless you are 6 weeks ans im only 1 week :/ .....

Department of state

For inquiries about nonimmigrant visa cases and the application process call: (202) 485-7600, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. EST to 5:00 p.m. EST.

Ive heard of visa specialist, but i think people confuse that with uscis tier 2 operator.
