Dublin as POE for CR-1

Well I have my CR-1 visa is in my passport and our flights are booked for the 1st July.

We are flying from Birmingham to Dublin, then Dublin to JFK for no other reason than Aer Lingus had a great deal on business class flights which means we can each take 3 x suitcases (both my husband USC and myself have been living in the UK for that last 10 years)

Has anyone else used the preclerance facility at Dublin as their POE? How was it? Does it take the same amount of time as POE in say JFK?

Anyone who has recently been through this I'd really like a heads up.

Sure the BHX to Dublin just an hour and then wondered what was the expectated wait time for POE in DUblin for US??

I'm filing for a CR-1 and my petition's at the Nebraska SC so I think I won't be there this side of New Year's.

From what I know, the advice is usually allow at least a few hours between connecting flights, and that was looking at a larger airport as my POE (Houston GBI). I can't imagine it taking that long if your case is completely straightforward, but again, I would still allow at least a few hours between your flights to be on the safe side.

Dublin is a piece of cake. Did my POE Dublin in 2010.

Once your bum is on the seat in the plane at Dublin, this part of your visa journey is over.

Also remember, once wheels up at Birmingham, you have left the UK. So look out the window, remember all you see then look forward, smile and think of your life to come.
