Marriage Certification Authentication?

Folks -

I submitted my original marriage certificate to NVC, as part of I-130 process, and waiting for them to review my documents.

I noticed that the marriage certificate has the following stamp:

"If the document is needed for use in foreign countries or for acceptance by the foreign missions situated in India authentication of the document by the designated authority, viz the ministry of external affairs, Govt. Of India is necessary"

What does this mean? Will I get a checklist from NVC asking me to authenticate the marriage certificate? Have others submitted marriage certs with this statement and have successfully passed through the NVC stage without a checklist?

5/8/2014: DS-260 Completed and submitted

5/30/2014: Case Complete !!

6/5/2014: CC Email Received

6/11/2014: Interview Date Scheduled

7/17/2014: Interview Date at Mumbai
