Did anyone's case move from "Testing and interview" back to "initial review" even after interview was done?

I filed my i485 in June 2013 and received my EAD on September 3, 2013. I did my interview on September 5, 2013 at the Atlanta USCIS office. The interview went great I thought. She even told me I would hear something in about a week. Turns out I waited months and months without a response. In march 2014 my status changed from testing and interview back to initial review. I don't know why this would happen. It is really annoying feeling like I have no voice. I can't reach anyone that can help me sort this problem out. I've done info passes (x2) and they seem to find a way to charm you and send you out thinking not to worry you will hear something soon. I am still waiting and it's now June 1, 2014; nearly 1 year later. My case has been outside the normal processing times. My lawyer is very useless. She collected my money and when she got fully paid; I cannot get her to investigate. She doesn't answer my phone calls or even return my emails. Ok, I have to admit that I got mean with her because she all of a sudden was telling me to try to get my papers through other avenues because they might turn me down. She wants me to marry to get it and all sorts of other things. My dad filed for me, so I don't see why I shouldn't get my papers. Please help! Anyone has this problem?

My timeline is

1. My dad filed i130 in 2006

2. Visa bulletin became current in April 2013

3. filed i485 and Uscis received it PD June 20, 2013

4. Biometrics and fingerprints completed in August 2013

5. Interview done on September 5, 2013

6. Uscis status "Testing and Interview"

7. Uscis status changed from "Testing and Interview" in march to " Initial review"

8. Initial review... (Pending)

Since you are in the Atlanta area contact one of your Georgia US Senators and ask him to investigate for you.

Personally, I would suggest contacting Johnny Isakson's office . His staff have actually helped a number of VJers when their processing was taking longer than it should. 9 months post interview is definitely out of the ordinary and his office should be able to get you some answershttp://www.isakson.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/how-can-i-help . Here is the link to his Constituency office. You will need to complete and submit an authorization letter that will allow them to investigate your case. Give them a call on the phone and explain the help you need.

Charles Spry is his Immigration staff person and you can reach him at (770) 661-0999. The link to the Authorization form is also included and you can return it by fax - you don't need to visit the office.

Good luck! I know how frustrating this must be and I hope you get it resolved quickly.

Topic has also been moved from 'what Visa do I need' to "AOS from a Family based visa" as the OP is not applying for a Visa but a green card and this is a more appropriate location for this discussion.
