You can never tell how long the immigration processing will take - all depends on who else is in the secondary queue that day. Then Atlanta is a huge airport so just getting to the exit can take a while.

You have probably been there before, right? I suggest picking something distinctive, like a specific rental car counter, or the taxi rank etc - something you can agree to meet at if you don't catch him coming through the arrivals exit by a certain time. Also make sure he has your phone number and knows that he can find a payphone to check in with you too. (assuming he can get some dollars and get some change to do so)

Yeah I have been through Atlanta airport several times, but always connecting to another flight. So I've never seen where people whose final destination is Atlanta come out. My husband has never been through Atlanta airport and hasn't flown a whole lot. It seems silly to worry, and it sounds like there is only one exit for international flights so it should be just fine.

Atlanta airport can be a beast, but very sign friendly. There are two important things to remember in Atlanta airport for foreign travelers.

1. Get on the correct train rail car that goes to International baggage. If he gets on domestic baggage claim, it can be awful.

2. Make sure he goes to Internaational Baggage claim.

I am sure there are plenty of nice airport personnel who can help him if he has trouble. Good luck and congratulations on your husband arrival.

OMG HOMETOWN BUDDIES! :dancing:

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Not all airports let you in to the baggage carousel. You definitely cannot do that at JFK. But if he must pass through one door and you are in view of the door, you can't miss.

Can't do it at ATL either

We usually use free airport wifi and whatsapp but failing that waiting by the international arrivals gate and checking when the flight lands is pretty foolproof and logical lol.

No free wifi at ATL. They do have paid wifi.

Atlanta is now the easiest airport in the world, since they opened the new international terminal.

For international arrivals.....the CNN shop is just to the right as they come out....It's never very crowded, and you can't miss it.

If they're coming on the domestic side, there is a waiting area just at the top of the escalator that everybody has to come up... just by the restrooms, again... you can't miss it....lots of people waiting behind a cordoned-off area.

Old and Grumpy....But an American Citizen!!!

Ya - I keep thinking - did she find her husband? And if not - why not? And if so - why'n'heck would she be posting again for a few weeks - as re-uniting bits shove all electronic communication out the windoze... ;)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
