My husband's point of entry will be Atlanta airport. I will pick him up here. I am wondering how hard it will be to find each other though. He won't have a phone with him and I am not sure how long it will take for him to get through immigration. Does anyone have any tips?

Is your husband flying into the international terminal or the domestic? Either one is easy to find your party. He'll need to follow all signs that show where the exit is. If he's flying into the international terminal, I would suggest that you just wait close to the exit/CNN store, same with the domestic terminal. There's an area that you can wait right near where he'll walk out.

It might be a good idea for him to travel with a cheap phone so that he can call you if he has any issues. Plus, it'll probably ease your mind if you know that he hasn't run into any issues.

Make sure he knows your address and telephone number. He'll have to write all of that stuff on the forms when entering the country.

Best of luck!

What can I say... I think it will depend on your case. I actually flew into Atlanta with my husband and we were separated going through immigration (the greatest part is that each of us had one of his cats!). It was taking forever and I just had to sit and wait, probably at least an hour or so. I finally found a nice person who worked there that was willing to help me out by going up and checking on him for me and then proceeded to lead me up to the waiting room so we could be together. I will say that I ran into other unhelpful and even rude employees before finding that one. Thank goodness I found the one with a little compassion. Biggest thing is to not stress and try to be patient, they will come out to the place where you can meet them. I find that there are a lot of helpful other travelers also. It will all work out!

He'll find you having essentially no other choice - right ?

You can never tell how long the immigration processing will take - all depends on who else is in the secondary queue that day. Then Atlanta is a huge airport so just getting to the exit can take a while.

You have probably been there before, right? I suggest picking something distinctive, like a specific rental car counter, or the taxi rank etc - something you can agree to meet at if you don't catch him coming through the arrivals exit by a certain time. Also make sure he has your phone number and knows that he can find a payphone to check in with you too. (assuming he can get some dollars and get some change to do so)

I flew to the US with my then-fiance (my now husband) and we went same immigration line. We actually almost gone to separate ways but thankfully there was some officer saw us and asked if we came together. He then told us stay together and went to USC-Alien Resident line. The good thing, the line was short compare to non-Resident line. We also came with my 2 cats and the officer was very nice and did not ask any papers of my cats though we were well prepared for that/

I usually search things before going to some places. I did it for airports, hotels, or any places to give me a better idea. Try to looked up information on internet or their website about Atlanta Airport, both of you have to find where the point of meeting before he fly out. It is easy call so you don't have to waste your time looking for each other. Based on my experience in Detroit International Airport, it only took a few minutes to went through the immigration line. The long wait actually went through all security screening lines because you had to remove your shoes, belt, or any metal on your body.

I will also add that if you really can't find someone, airports have a paging system. Haven't you heard something like "Mr. John Scott, Mr. John Scott, your party is waiting for you. Please find a white courtesy telephone." before? :)

Yes, I remember that. I always heard announcement like that in airports.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

if he's coming in to ATL on an international flight -

there's only one exit door available to him

and on the other side of that door is a big sign 'International Arrivals'

So - park yerself there by the time of the posted plane's arrival time - and be prepared to wait.

Sooner or later he'll come out of that one exit door - pushing his baggage on a trolley.
