Haha I can understand that one! Just be in contact with the consulate explain you need an extension and keep copies of the email just in case - but it's no big deal :)

Though one warning: some of the documents needed for the interview have time limitations on them. Police clearance is only good for a year iirc. The DS-160 I'm not sure but I put it off until the house sold as well. The pictures for the visa/medical need to be within six months as well.

:)

Thanks for the head's up. I have been searching on time limits for some of these documents. I have not started any of those yet as I figured I would just wait for the packet 3 in case they did need to be current. As soon as I get it, I will email the consulate and see what they say.

If they extend, I get my vacation this year. If not, I get to be married this year... It's a good news story either way :dancing:

So I got the letter telling me I can book an appointment today. Can someone tell me, do I have to pay the fee of 240 for each of us, my three children and I , so 240x4 or is it just the fee of 240 for me to apply? Thanks !

If you're taking the chicklets with you, probably it'll be whatever cost times however many.

Contact Dr. Cheema's office - they're pretty good at responding next day :) Not sure if it's a different fee if they're younger.

Interview and medical booked! Less than two weeks to go. The information from dr cheema says this...3.On or before exam day Applicants must provide the APPOINTMENT LETTER that shows your Name and Case number and Interview date and CONFIRMATION EMAIL that verifies your interview date and time , your name and place of interview. I got a confirmation email, do I receive a paper copy of the appointment letter or what are they asking for? Thanks!

How exciting for those of you with your visas already, and those of you who are close! We've only just begun, but we're both planners and wondering how closely you can book the medical appointment before the interview? We're trying to see if he can do this in one trip to Vancouver. Thanks!

August 4, 2014: NOA-1 received via USPS (found out our Notice Date was actually July 30th, and I'm thankful for even one extra day) So glad to be at the California Service Center :dancing:

Dr.Cheema (if you're going through Vancouver) will book you a few days before the interview, which was super handy for me (being from Saskatchewan and wanting to do it in one trip). Once you have your interview booked you just need to email the medical office and request an appointment as close to the interview date as possible.

My agenda was:

Tuesday - medical

Wednesday - pick up results after 4:30

Thursday - interview

Thank you sooooo much! My fiance and I are trying to budget all these extra costs and were hoping we could make one "fun" trip to Vancouver rather than him having to go twice. :)

Congratulations on getting your visa!! You must be so excited to start on the next part of your journey! :)
