Getting through the backlog is one thing, just hope the embassies can cope and interview times don't shoot up. London has already gone from 4-6 weeks to 6-8 :(

Yep - London is a very busy Embassy - and the other day apparently they closed unexpectedly for 1 day and all the scheduled interviews now have to be re-scheduled.

I was hoping to be at interview by September but now suspect it will be something like late October/November at the current rate of progress.

It's a long haul flight!

best wishes

I was hoping for late September so my wife would be here as we celebrate our first anniversary. I'm hoping for October now, November I don't want to contemplate. I refuse to take mid September off the table though, I refuse *stamps foot! ;)

Well said! :protest: - Our anniversary is Sept 24th and I did have the faintest glimmer of hope that I would be there for that but now I will be pleased if I am there by the end of October.:idea::idea:

I expect the rest of November filers are going to approved very soon. Need to change the name of this thread to NVC filers 2014 from November 2013 uscis thread?

Called the NVC hotline and the very helpful lady told me that August interviews are out as they just "got" my AOS on 6/30 (even though it arrived a week prior), and it takes 30 working days to get it processed. No idea when IV is available.

If my marriage holds, and I'm now completely unsure where my wife and I are heading, it would seem that September may even be out of reach for the interview.

I hate this process, I really don't want to put a negative light on those people working hard at USCIS and NVC but they don't know their lack of resources is killing my marriage and god knows how many others.

No marriage is perfect so if its something that you guys can work out, make every effort to do so.

Distance may cause a lot tension in a marriage but once to guys are together face to face it will be way better to handle.

Don't know what your situation is but, I am praying for your marriage.

Good luck!!

Hang in there casualsurfer!

Yes it's an excruciatingly stressful, lonely and depressive time BUT the light IS there at the end of the tunnel.

Many if not most most couples find that that their relationship is stretched as taut as a piano wire by the enforced and seemingly unending separation. :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

Your marriage will be just fine casualsurfer, just hang in there. The one thing I would suggest is to make sure that when IV becomes available you have all your documents together to send them off as soon as you pay, take the time now to double and triple check to make sure you have all the required documents so you can avoid a checklist delay..

It's hard, believe me, I know. We had three years before this process began waiting for doma to go. We didn't know what we were going to do if it didn't. But if you love each other you can get through it. This process seems to get the blame for problems with people's relationships but you need to think about if it really is the strain of this or underlying problems. I know many folk who split after a LDR and many who have stayed together and can now live together thanks to the death of doma. Th separation is not always the issue x
