Time has come to submit the AOS for my K-1 Fiancee and I'm preparing all the form bs that needs to be sent to ins. I'm confused whether I need multiple redundant documents because I'm filing i-765 authorization for employement along with the aos I-485. For I-485 i'm filing copy of passport and copy of her visa page, and I'm including the two photos. The instructions for the i-765 also say two pics and copy of passport-i94, etc. Do I include these and I should treat the I-765 as if I'm sending it on it's own?

Yes, I-485 and I-765 are processed separately and thus, have a different set of required documentations. You need to submit duplicates of similar documents, and yes, 2 additional pictures too. (http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-765instr.pdf , Page 6-7)

Btw, might as well add in the I-131 (AP) with your application, since it's free when applying with AOS. The requirements are somewhat similar to I-765 too.

thank you sweet cakes, that's what I wanted to know. I'm not too sure about doing the I-131, it's asking for too much specific information on don't have right now like WHEN do you want to go abroad, what reason, etc. Will it matter too much what I put?

I-131 is not that hard and you can simply follow the VJ example form here: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-131.pdf

Is this for your wife, adjusting from K-1? [Not so sure because your profile still says naturalization. :D ] If so, she can skip Part 3 to 7. You can simply write by pen "unknown" and "N/A" on Part 3, items #1 and #2, respectively. And tick "more than one trip" on Part 7, #1. :)

I did, each individual form has its own requirements. You don't have to put in any specific dates on the i-131 either, its just useful to have this permission to travel in case you do. You never know what might happen.

Yea disregard what it says on my profile, when I set up my account I was a bit braindead that night and I fed it information for my own journey I had when I was a kid here in the U.S., Ha.

Ok then! I'll do the I-131 with unknown, n/a for part 3: item 1/2

Sure. Most K1s do it this way, and it would come in handy should there be any need for a travel outside US for her. The processing time is the same as with EAD anyway. :)

I'm also doing my adjustment of status forms, however I am a bit confused by the AP form as it says that you can only apply if you have "urgent humanitarian reasons" and part 7 asks for the reasons why you are applying and to provide supporting evidence.

Please can someone clarify.

Thanks

For K1s filing for AOS, you don't need to provide a reason for applying AP. Please do read my post again on response #5 on how to fill-out an I-131: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/498925-when-filing-i-485-together-with-i-765-do-i-need-submit-more-than-two-photos/#entry7048952

Thanks for mentioning this, I had same questions. They make it seems like its something you need to beg them for.

while we're at it, I have one more question. It's about the Vaccination. I take it because she (my fiancee, beneficiary) had an exam by an approved doctor in her country, I don't need her to take medical exams in the U.S. and I don't need to file anything I-693 correct? I am submitting a vaccination supplement form issued by the hospital from her city of birth, and it's in english. That will be enough from what I understand. The immigration officers already took her exam papers that were given to her by the physician in her country for the K-1 Visa.

Nich-Nick's, a long time member, has a very good post in response to your concern. Do read here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/428381-i-693-report-of-medical-examination-and-vaccination-report/#entry6206232

Yes, the DS-3025 Vaccination record is sufficient as long as it's properly completed, and if the medical is done within a year of filing for AOS as well, there is no need for your fiancee to see a civil surgeon.

All the best!

I have seen this need for duplicate documents not to be true. I, and other people I have met on here have filed their I-485, I-765, and I-131 as a SINGLE packet, with only supporting.documents for I-485 sent. ALL (and I) have received separate NOA1's.

Sweet cakes, thanks again. It turns out she WAS given this ds-3025 worksheet but she forgot it back home so her family scanned and emailed it. It seems that the 'vaccine history incomplete' was checked but under it also the waiver thing was checked, so I'm hoping I don't need to mess with civil surgeons and i-693/ transcriptions. From what i've read from the other threads, it's fine like this.

Well too late now, I included the individual requirements for all the stuff in there. Better to have more than less usually.
