Hmmm. Where's our brave young preznit in all this? He jumps right in for gay football players, Skip Gates & Trayvon. Why can't he speak up for this woman?

Ms Ibrahim was raised a Christian by her mother and has refused to renounce the faith.

However, a court ruled earlier this month that she is Muslim because that was her father's faith.

Now that you mention it, that does also somewhat match his circumstance as well. Maybe he's afraid of a fatwa.

I am not sure what you mean. This was from a UK newspaper so it's going to focus on the efforts of the UK politicians. It does say 'worldwide protests'. I think you can be quite safe in assuming that the US president was part of that.

No doubt had he made mention of it you would be here singing his praises...

Hmm.. So did she get the 100 lashes for sleeping with her husband?

Reference to American President George W. Bush, particularly in regards to his gangsta-style moral clarity and steadfast resolve in bringing an advancing tide of liberty and freedom to a troubled world populated by evil, evil, evil terrorists, US-hating Saddam lovers, and cowardly European moral relativists.

Expecting the preznit to at least try to do the right thing now and then isn't too much to ask. Right? Maybe he misplaced his "pen and phone" ...

You understand her husband and two children are all American citizens. They deserve protection from this sort of barbarism, or at the very least for someone in the US administration to speak up for them.

Seriously: any citations of Obama speaking up on this at all? Anyone?

I do not think you tried very hard to find evidence of whitehouse intervention. That is your right, but doing so means that your condemnation sounds hollow.

I'm glad they are freeing her. They made her give birth in chains on a prison floor.

Yes, yes they did. This is an incredibly inhumane law and sentence. I don't think they flogged her but without the outcry, I am sure they would have and worse. It's a message to the Sudanese people as much as anything else of course, always make an example out of those who do not do as you want if you possibly can get away with it.

Someone should make an example out of the people who imprisoned her.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.
