it has to do with the job market (or lack thereof) in memphis. in order for both of us to make a living (and also not live in a box under a bridge), he's got to move to philly, and i've got to stay in memphis. in august, when my lease is up, i'll move in with him again.

I don't get it. Going back where?

back to where we were seperated and waiting to live together like normal people. i thought it was over ....

ugh. i feel so dead right now.

he's going to talk to my landlord today and see if they'll let me go early without having to pay the nearly $2000 penalty. i'll keep you updated if you like.

Some apartments are ok if you just switch the lease to someone else by finding someone who wants to move in right away and just starts doing payments. I don't know about your landlord, but if he does maybe you can find someone who needs an apartment to move in for you!

yeah, it does suck pretty bad, and it's horribly disappointing ... but since we have been through something like this before, we know how to deal with being seperated. and we love each other like we're the same person, so at least we're not "seperating" ... just living apart for a while.

Sorry to hear that! Reseparating is the worst, but at least you know it's only for four months AND you are in the same country this time (not very consoling statement, I know, but it's the best way to look at it).

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can get out of your lease or find a way to sublet it. ;)

the written lease forbids subletting, but nizzar went to talk to the landlord yesterday to see if they would let me go a little early, at least (2 months instead of 4 ... which would mean only one month of seperation). at first she said she couldn't do anything, that we would have to pay all the fees ... then when he told her that he was going to have to leave me there, then she said she would talk to her boss and see what they could come up with ... she'll get back with us on friday (tomorrow) with the answer!

fingers crossed/prayers/good wishes from everyone, please
