Hey everyone, I have been on AP for over a week now. My interview was on May 6 and I was missing letter of intent to marry from my fiance (original copy). I sent it to them and now I am on AP. Officer at the interview told me it is ok and not a big deal and I should hand in the missing document. But I am so worried. How long do I have to wait? Should I e-mail them or call? Anyone here who has been on AP for long?

I am Canadian citizen and was born in Pakistan and my fiance is born and raised in Chicago.

Because of your birth origin you may have to wait longer than average. AP for K1 in Montreal is normally 1-3 weeks, and that's with visa approval at interview. But it can last a few months in cases like yours or if you worked in a science based occupation. There is a thread in the Canada forum about AP in Canada.

Because it is AP, no one can tell you exactly how long it will take. Sounds like yours was because of a document and that is normally shorter than otherwise, but still can take a bit.
