Like banning Fords due to how many are involved in care accidents compared to Porsche's.

Seems like an awful lot of military style assault weapons to me. Doesn't have to be an AR-15. In the most recent killings it is the AR-15 however.

Yeah, it's just like that.

Ok, well there were was a Bushmaster in the list, two AKs, a Saiga and thats about it.

I'm surprised at the number of .22s actually.

Pistols by far the most obvious, then a motley assortment of rifles and shotguns.

Not scientific but the names I see most often are the ones that I would expect because they are common.

Pretty much what I would expect.

The original statement made about an AR-15 in this thread was made by NB. I simply asked him and anyone else here what purpose an AR-15 served the average gun owner that no other gun out there can. The answer which was given by Darnell, is none. It was you gun enthusiasts who took it on this wild ride, which is what you usually do to deflect. All of these military style assault weapons should be banned in my opinion.

Not an obvious choice for a homicidal maniac, certainly fails the appearance test.

Obviously they can kill, but not a recommended round for say home defence.

I don't believe that military style assault weapons should be sold to the general public, they serve no other purpose than to kill.

That can be said of any gun.......

I actually answered that question in this thread if you care to look. AR15s are the most customizable firearm on the planet and can be built for any size person, for almost any use, even small game.

I know of no gun that can do something another gun can not.

Even if you want to go Elephant hunting, there are options.

For whatever reason it is popular with the drive by's etc as illustrating their cause, it has no particular relevance to any of the issues.

I do not know what knife was used recently in California, but if it was a particular brand - bad looking then I am sure it would be latched on to, a kitchen knife from Wal Mart, maybe not.

Which I'm assuming is really its purpose for existence?

It is an extremely popular hunting round, will take anything pretty much and the recoil is manageable.

There are a lot of bigger badder rounds.
