The government DOES set MPG standards in the US for NEW cars and that is a good thing. Auto manufacturers would not make these changes if not forced. And we the consumers benefit as a result.

As to other people's comments that modern firearms are better killing machines and do not require marksmanship…the only rifle I can think of like that is that 20k sniper rifle that digitally lines up the shot.

I would argue that since Hiram Maxim and Browning entered the scene, we entered the modern era of firearms. IE since late 1800s early 1900s.

Nope, as usual, you twisted the intent behind the post, or simply don't get it at all. Since I couldn't find any pics of mass murderers caught in the act wielding "assault weapons" while they mowed their victims down, I chose instead to portrify my words with pics of people acting crazy using Google images.

In light of the family-friendly benevolent atmosphere that abounds here at VJ, let me go on record by stating that the people in those pics I posted who are acting crazy had no intent to harm anyone, either with assualt weapons, crayons, or meds. They were simply props for demonstration purposes. Unless of course, they really ARE crazy, which we won't know until they go on a shooting spree somewhere.

But the pit bull is one of the best guard dogs available, it is highly customizable and if I want to own one, dammit I have a right to!

On a serious note, something does need to be done about the extremely high number of pit bull attacks. I'm not sure if euthanizing them is the answer or not, but there aren't a lot of options.

Either 6.5 Swede or .308. .308 is much more common around here.

I know they get a lot of bad press, enough so that there MUST be an issue... but I know about 4 owners and their dogs as we speak, and I'd let them babysit a toddler. (not as a snack, either) They are the sweetest dogs ever. I imagine there is something in there that is due to genetics, but I suspect it is more in how they are being raised.

well my buddy said they can be sweet pets and some of it is environment, but he also said the Genetics, jsut make the too unpredictable.

I'm sure it is. I have heard good things about them. But my point was about the "standards" of mileage. New diesel vehicles (at least trucks) are not required to display mileage info on the sticker by law. So I guess there is no standard for diesels. Thinking about it, I reckon that makes diesels racist... all diesel vehicles should be banned. Especially if they are one of the highly customized assault vehicles...
