It depends and I do not believe there is one answer.

A lot of people would go for a shotgun, in a lot of US built houses over penetration can be an issue.

I have shot a .357, big kick and a lot of flash, I think it is a round that you would need to be comfortable with, shoot regularly, it is also I think quite expensive.

Obviously it is a lot bigger than a.223 coming out of an AR 15 and you can also get it in Home Defence rounds, hollow points, that expand and make an even bigger hole. It was I believe the original one shot stop round before they developed bullets.

Of the ones I have fired I would go for a 9mm pistol and Carbine combination,

I'd prob prefer a shot gun too really. Either that or a 9mm. Eventually my pops will hand down his 10mm KSP issue.

Tough for a headshot with a horseshoe at that distance. If you target isn't drunk enough, they can duck and it's a miss.

What's best for home defense is whatever gun you have in your hand when it is needed.

A Mercedes with a moon roof is ideal for home defense and carrying a shooter with a sub machine gun. Kinda like Rat Patrol meets the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Because trying to ban a weapon for no other reason than the way it looks is just off the wall

AR-15's as a percentage of gun crime in this country is tiny tiny. Banning it would accomplish nothing, so what's the point, other than a few anti-gun folks with no understanding of Guns or the statistics of AR-15's would be happy.

Instead of expending all our energy over something that will have zero effect, and will rally the Gun movement because it is so absurd, why don't we concentrate on things that might make a difference.

Ar-15's can be used for property protection, sport shooting, collecting, varmint hunting etc etc. So what purpose does a Min-14 have ?
