Should you be made to put your German Sheppard to sleep because a neighbor who knows nothing about dogs thinks he is scary looking, when the Chow down the street has bitten 4 people

No, but I understand why some people would want that and I don't refer to their thoughts as being invalid. At the same time a dog bite is not equivalent to being shot to death. I am required by law to keep my dog on a leash or fenced at all times. I had to purchase extra insurance for dog bite coverage, I also had to pass a background check and have a home visit before being allowed to have the dog. How many of you gun owners can say the same about a gun purchase?

Just to Sonic to get it a burger.

Then it's home to bed with candles and soft music.

It's pretty sad really when I attempt to have an honest conversation about why a lot of people do not like guns and now I'm just a scaredy cat and need to look away. :sleepy:

You had to pass a background check and have a home visit to own a dog. Really ?

Yes really, it's quite common in the librul states.

I rescued a lab down here. Someone dumped her beside the road. A lady from Maine paid, to have her spayed and transported to Maine. She said even strays sell for decent money up there, because the Spay/Nuter laws are so tough they don't have stray dogs running everywhere

If you adopt, they check you out a bit.

I also had to provide 3 character references, and they were called.

Funny thing about it is my dog was a rescue from a shelter in Mississippi. You'd figure they'd be giving them away.

Neponset Valley Humane Society does the same thing for cat and kitten adoptions. They go to visit the perspective new home.

It cost me almost $500 to have my Shepherd spayed and up to date on all shots and for the transportation up here. Not a bad deal really, it's over $300 just to have a dog spayed up here.

How many people adopt a gun?

Why is it an invalid argument that a very large amount of people are intimidated by guns and even more so intimidated by military style weapons? Does their fear and intimidation not exist? When people tell me they are afraid of my German Shepherd, should I just tell them that their fears are invalid and make some wise crack because their fears sound stupid to me? Should I put a spiked collar on my Shepherd for extra shock value and chuckle as the person runs away? Cause that's how most of you hardcore gun enthusiasts come across here. Or should I take the time to explain that my dog is friendly and would not bite unless threatened and allow the person to feel comfortable around my dog.

Fear generally equals ignorance. We should NOT be writing laws based on ignorance. Be it dog or gun.
