Thanks for the clarification. I am pretty sure there are not a whole lot of E-3 with high value intel, after a month or so

Sometimes it's the little things that make a difference (yes, he was a specialist, but the knowledge isn't that far different)

I won't compare Anderson to Bergdahl past the level of knowledge and the potential damage. Neither were stellar Soldiers, but even if Bergdahl deserted with the intention of assisting the Taliban in killing US personnel, that still makes him a different flavor of #######.

Point being... positions of MGs and visibility lines, TTPs/SOPs in place, how US forces move and how its changed in response to the threat (eg, dismounting more because IEDs are targeting vehicles? Time to start targeting personnel...) can be extremely damaging when put in context, or when they complete a picture enemy intel has been putting together.

Just because he wasn't in a leadership position or had a Snowden-level clearance doesn't mean his info couldn't be damaging.

I know but, after a while in captivity his knowledge of troop strengths movements etc would be pretty much worthless.He was a PFC in an Infantry unit. Not much high level stuff. Tactics, troop movements etc.

I watched CBS news tonight. I admit Fox is right, but the puff piece they reported was nothing like what is going on . They with emphasis pointed out,Bergdahl had left the post before, and GASP none of his teammates reported it, as if to blame them
