Hi all,

I have been lucky to be reunited with fiancée since May 11, 2014. We plan to get married sometime in July. When I submitted the application for the K1 visa, I've included her daughter and when we went to the interview in Rio de Janeiro we decided to bring her daughter at a later date because of school. She's only 7 years old and we both now decided to have her come to the US. How do I go about in starting the process to get my fiancée's daughter here. Do I call the consulate in Rio de Janeiro to schedule her an appointment?

Welcome to the forum.

The US embassy/consulate would likely be a good place to start your inquiry about the child's to-follow K-2 visa. Some general information is available at the DOS Nonimmigrant K1 Fiance(e) FAQs: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/types/family/fiance-k-1.html

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Hi A&B, I re-read the link you sent me several times. I did include my fiancée's daughter on the application and told the consulate that she would travel at a later time. We are now ready to have her travel to US. So my question is, how do I get the K2 visa for her daughter? Do I reach out to the NVC or the US Consulate in Brasil to schedule an appointment for her VISA? Thank you inadvance

I sent an email to the Rio de Janeiro consulate to inquire about the K2 visa process. My step daughter just need to make an appointment with the consulate and apply for the K2 visa. The appointment is scheduled next month.
