I agree the interview date assignments seem pretty random. Another IR-1 applicant for Russia received an interview date in early July that is 18 days before my wife's interview, even though she received both case complete and interview date e-mail 11 days EARLIER than this other applicant. And her priority date is more than 2 months earlier. Go figure... Perhaps a new interview slot had opened up at the time they scheduled the other applicant.

Goodness was just looking t least and looking for your timeline so nothing yet from Russia? What is the issue with them. So sorry. Hang in there.

No 2 -3 days is a waste of time. You have to give the system time to get his information in. You go to SS office that soon they won;t even have him in system and can't help you. Plus you want to give the system time. 2 weeks really give it time.

Your SSN will be delivered to your house. But...it will be good to gently remind the officer at immigration that you have applied for a Social Security Number. I understand that there is a field on their screen that they have to check to get the process going.

Best of luck to you!

My wife has been assigned a July 21 interview date, and we want to move it earlier, but have to wait until her new passport arrives (hopefully in the next few days). I wish we had requested it months ago, and hope everyone else has checked their passport expiration dates!

Last week, I set up her profile on USTraveldocs.com and accidentally requested a new appointment, so I then sent an e-mail to the embassy and asked them to ignore it (which they did). On the site now, it says "First available appointment is Tuesday, July 1, 2014." I hope that is a good indicator that we'll be able to request and get an earlier interview once the new passport arrives.

Hi!

A couple of good news. My husband surprised me this week with the news he's coming for the interview! We're still checking with the consulate to see if he'll be able to attend, but were both really happy that he's coming! No matter what, that Friday will end with caipirinhas (the national drink!).

Other good news: I finished with medicals today. I'm not sure how helpful this is to other cases, but here's how it went for me. The interview letter only stated I had to have the medicals. I went to the Brazilian consulate website and found out the doctor in my hometown that I needed to go to. I scheduled the exam and went there yesterday. The doctor did an overall checkup and asked for a chest X-Ray, blood work to rule out syphilis, and a couple vaccines I already didn't have (I had most of them, just needed a flu shot and something called Tdap - she said it somewhat new vaccine, so I had to have it). I did all the needed exams yesterday, got the results today, brought them to the Doc's office and after she reviewed them, she gave me the sealed envelope. (Now that I'm looking at the form, she didn't check off a few vaccines that were not taken as not age-appropriate. I'm going to give her a call tomorrow to see if there'll be a problem with that).

I asked the doctor for a copy of the form she filled, but she said she couldn't give it to me... She did give me the last page with the vaccines, so, at least I have that. It was strange because I have a copy of my Form I-693-Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination record that I did back in 2012 when we're doing an Adjustment of Status (I was in the US, the US doctor gave me a copy, no problems).

Side note: came across two K1 applicants who are having interview before my date, and have been on this visa road for 4-6 months total. Yeah, I know, unfair, right?! Oh well...

Why are you upset? Your country doesn't qualify for Electronic Processing. So you have yo mail in like the mots of the rest of us. You will not have case complete until you send them the documents. Do you understand that?

Why do you already have tickets when you don;t even have case complete. Sorry to fuss but this is not NVC's fault now this you can't blame them for.

The AOS and IV packages (if thats what you email) you will need to send in the mail or fedex or however you wat to mail to them. Sorry you are looking at another month or two before case compkete so get it off soonest.

WOW flight is July 29th I am so sorry you will need to change that. They just assigned August interviews so July is out the question.

thanks for the fast reply dwheels76-- my husband got excited.. were having our wedding anniversary this july 27.. and the plan was to fly with him when he gets here by july.. he bought the ticket the sooner the cheaper.. he thought maybe our case would be completed by this time

yes, he just shipped the documents via UPS right after he got the msg. hoping there's still hope or any chance by miracle we could make it to july, but I know its a big NO  .. and that means.. we have to move on, buy ticket again.. weve been wanting to be with each other so baaaaaaaad.. who doesn't anyways  hope this will end soon..
