I'm so confused. You told them they would get an interview "before" my wife's date. I was just trying to make sense of what you said. That's all. Just curious.

It's not your fault for the late date. I'm just upset and will likely call the embassy to see if it can be earlier. Thanks!

Who did? I sure did not say that (did I?). There case complete is late in the game. I only go by what I have witnessed and some of what I have been told through the years with DOS and NVC its pretty on point. They have said case compkete by 20th to be in current queue. If there are slots left after they are done they will place them.

I am sure if there are still slots when they get down to your CC date your interview date will be before R60106.

Must have been a typo or something.

Could you please work at NVC? I swear these Agents make stuff up as they go along!

When I called last night (my final call to NVC, it was glorious) I asked how the interviews were done because my case complete was right at the tail end of July scheduling and I end up with the last business day of the month! He said the schedulers get so many slots and just fill them in whereever they can. He made it sound like a dang lottery! I asked if the priority date comes into play here and he said it doesn't.

I agree the interview date assignments seem pretty random. Another IR-1 applicant for Russia received an interview date in early July that is 18 days before my wife's interview, even though she received both case complete and interview date e-mail 11 days EARLIER than this other applicant. And her priority date is more than 2 months earlier. Go figure... Perhaps a new interview slot had opened up at the time they scheduled the other applicant.

And her priority date is more than 2 months earlier. Go figure... Perhaps a new interview slot had opened up at the time they scheduled the other applicant.

It's like there was a staff meeting and they figured out the least efficient and most ridiculous way to handle this process and that's what they're sticking with.

I'm counting down the days until this nightmare ends!

Hello! Congrats to all who received an interview date recently!

Today I sent an e-mail to the embassy requesting an interview date. Apparently, when the NVC does not schedule an interview, the applicant has to request an appointment via e-mail... A k1 Venezuelan filer told me they had to request the appointment. I received an auto-reply from the consulate, stating that they would respond within 5 business days. Hopefully they'll give me my date soon

In my case, I requested an expedited interview...So after the NVC approved my paper work and completed my case, they sent my file directly to the embassy. Hopefully I can still get a July date. But I believe it might be possible to still have the interview on August.. We'll see

I can't travel until August 31st anyway, so mid August could still work for me. But a sooner date and having the visa in hand would give me peace of mind....I booked tickets for Aug 31st a few months ago, because my husband and me were scared that I couldn't buy tickets to the US later. Thank god I did because most airlines already left Venezuela, and those that remain are refusing to sell tickets, and reduced the frequency of international flights...

Interviews are all about the case complete date. Then PD comes in to play as far as giving dates. I am sure if there are still slots when they get down to your CC date your interview date will be before R60106. You just have to hold on.

It's no hit and miss or lottery. Usually to be considered for the round of interviews they say you need case complete by 15th to 20th to be safe after that its a hit and miss.

i expect not to wait longer than 6 weeks for the interview. according to the spreadsheet, people who got cases complete between 21-30th been scheduled withing 5 days

K1 process is different. They have to provide all of their paperwork at the interview because the NVC just handles sending their case from USCIS to the embassy. They do not collect their paperwork for the interview like they do with us. Just an FYI. Good luck anyway.

Yeah, it's so upsetting. I know what you mean and how you feel.
