2013-12-17: NOA2 approved (checked case status online)

2013-12-27: NOA2 (Hardcopy)

2014-01-31: NVC received case from USCIS

2014-03-12: Case # assigned

2014-03-13: DS-261 completed online & paid AOS fee

2014-03-20: sent AOS package

2014-03-30: NVC ERROR, had to resubmit DS-261 online

2014-04-07: received checklist from NVC, incomplete AOS package

2014-04-24: NVC received re-completed AOS package

2014-05-08: paid IV fee

2014-05-09: IV package sent

2014-05-11: DS-260 completed online

2014-05-15: NVC ERROR, had to resubmit DS-261 & DS-260 online

2014-06-12: Case complete

2014-06-23: Interview scheduled

2014-08-06: Interview date

I actually called today and they said they scheduled it yesterday so I will let you know when I receive the email - they said 3-5 days

August 29th at 8am. I'm not as excited as I should be (probably because I was hoping for EARLY August). The good side is this does not conflict with our travel plans to Prague and flights to the US from London are much cheaper in September.

We'll still try to beg for an earlier date, but we should suck it up and be thankful we're at this stage!

I'm sorry you got late August, but hey, I bet July and August will pass very quickly

Hopefully the embassy will be able to reschedule to a sooner date!

Does anyone know the rhyme or reason behind scheduling? Are the interviews scheduled at random? Or are they seriously this booked up for August already?

Case complete is one factor then they start looking at your Receipt date at USCIS. It could also be that August has some other things going for your embassy and those later dates are only available.

But Receipt date does have a factor also. When you see others from your embassy get their dates look at Receipt dates and compare. Now not ALWAYS will it be oldest receipt date gets the earliest date.

Remember your embassy also has DCF and who knows how many hundreds of petitions outside of VJ.
