What does Technology Alert List means? I also work in IT and have been in few other countries including the US as a result of my profession. I will like to know more bcos AP is one thing I wouldnt want to go through.

U can google about the same. Although technologies that are publically available (or is educational) doesn't need an authorization. Am happy that i am working on such a technology only.

But then may be CO won't be having any idea about this technology that he put me on AP. I think they will ask for my CV later to confirm.

But then there are thousand of techies who travel to US on HIB visas every year from India... and there are no issues with that.

I should be approved in no time by Washington Office.

I found this on web while going thru a PDF:

A “Visas Mantis” security advisory opinion (SAO) is a background check by the U.S. State
Department to investigate whether a visa applicant intends to violate U.S. laws prohibiting export
of sensitive goods, technology, or information.1
During the visa application interview, a consular officer decides whether or not an SAO is
needed, considering factors such as the applicant’s stated purpose of travel, current job and
employer, previous jobs and employers, education, and training. SAOs are most common for
individuals with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

My husband and I decided we will wear jeans and nice tops to the interview. We don't want to over dress. He asked me to buy him a black Polo. So I ordered it from American Eagle and I'll just bring it with me. I'll wear a sleeveless dressy top and some sandals.

Husband is going for 2 parts of the medical today since they are walk-ins. Doctor appt is set for Tuesday 10am since the doctor needs the results from the first two appts. The instructions don't make that clear

Hey guys - quick question! I went back bad reviewed the DS 230 and realized I made a minor typo in my wife's previous address. I added an additional letter to her commune. I'm wondering if I should get this fixed or let it go since it's case completed now.

Thanks!

Do you mean the DS 260? Its not big deal.. Just correct it during your interview. We didn't add 10 years of employment history. We're just going to write it on a piece of paper and submit it during our interview.

Yeah, mine had it too.

I was just trying to figure out if it was what i thought it was, the ds260, or if i needed to do something more.

I am setting a file with everything from I-130 to the AOS and IV packet. I don't want to miss anything.

Damn husbands, always keeping their calm while we pull our hair.

Mine is like, don't worry we are fine, nothing to stress about it...

And i'll be like: BUT BUT BUT....

Haha so truuue!!!

But yes it is definitely the DS260, I misread your question sorry.

At least you're not dealing with 6 tickets Kuwait-Denver as I would when the time comes. $8,000-$10,000 if I book 4 months in advance. Can't do it though... I'm an AP magnet.

Hope I just made you feel a little better about your situation. ;)

Hahah so true!!! Lol, he is laughing cos I just read out these posts lol.

Eek six tiks ouchies!

Should I even bring it up if they don't mention it? Do you correct it with the consular officer?

A extra character in a former address line is just a triviality that you shouldn't even fret over. However, If you're unfortunate enough to go into AP then maybe you should correct it with the CO, just in case it becomes part of their background investigation.

Good news, God heard our prayers and we got an interview at the Lonfon baddy on the sand day our first child was born. Can anyone tell me how we can request for an earlier interview date at the London embassy?

OMG how exciting. Congratulations momma and daddy. Now keep checking on when your petition gets to embassy. I would email them like Monday and request a earlier date if possible throw in the baby birth and you need your husband there and all that. I would have him get him medical done now in case they say okay tomorrow is your date.

Again congratulations this is wonderful news. Keep us posted.

Hi everyone. I am hesitating to book my flight tickets now, as they will be 3 times more expensive if I buy them last minute (ie waiting to receive my visa)... Just wanted to know if I will be the only lady booking in advance? AP can happen to everyone so I am hesitating... :-/

This is a touchy thing but why not book if you must but do the you can change the dates for minimal fee. Many airlines will give you wiggle room. I so understand and for most of us its travel season and everywhere is out of this world crazy pricing.
