OMG!!!!! Guys!!!!! My huiby's visa was approved!!!! He just called me and told me the news!!!! So I immediately checked the ceac website and it says ISSUED!!! Yay! I'm so relieved. I'm feeling a bit foolish for freaking out on Friday. But thank you everyone for all the support.

You were right Bkghosh!!!!!

He's going to buy the ticket today. Looks like the 21st is a go!!!! OMG!!!!! I can't wait!!!! It's less than 2 weeks!!!!! :)

Yes i got it by afternoon itself.

They told me that it was easier for me to get it same day since i was filing induvidually unlike compared to a number of members of a family.

I did over hear them telling to a family of a mother and two kids that it will be ready only by tomorrow afternoon.

I got two sealed envelopes,

First containing documents related to my history of vaccinations,past illness and test results done on the medicals day.

Second was an envelope with the X ray which they told will have to be shown at POE.(not required at interview)

Im going to be free for the coming three weeks and have a ton lot of relatives to visit and say goodbye! and shop a lot too!! :content:

It probably depends on the location, as even here in Canada there are variances. The one I'm going to allows us to pick it up the next day after 4pm :P

So I'll stay an extra day before flying back here (it's a flight to get there or 12 hrs to drive there, may as well stay and visit some friends and family :yes: )

In the interview letter, F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE have a S, which means "The NVC only received a scanned document. You must present the original document at the time of your interview."

When we submitted AOS, we sent the 2013 tax acknowledgement. Tax was filed in Puerto Rico and not in federal IRS, so do not have IRS tax transcripts. When the taxes were filed, they stamped a copy and returned as acknowledgement. But that is now with NVC as part of AOS submission.

What do I take as original document to the interview?

Usually, you have to go back the next day to pickup the sealed medical report + xray. In one case in Mumbai I read they were able to convince the medical clinic to give them the report the same afternoon (as they were from out of town). So I guess you can try to negotiate with the clinic to give you the report the same day, if possible.

In the interview letter, F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE have a S, which means "The NVC only received a scanned document. You must present the original document at the time of your interview."

When we submitted AOS, we sent the 2013 tax acknowledgement. Tax was filed in Puerto Rico and not in federal IRS, so do not have IRS tax transcripts. When the taxes were filed, they stamped a copy and returned as acknowledgement. But that is now with NVC as part of AOS submission.

What do I take as original document to the interview?

Take the copy of the Puerto Rico tax acknowledgement to the interview. NVC will be forwarding the original to the consulate any way.

Hello,

I have my interview at 18th June. I have following doubts

(1) Do they ask for photocopy of AOS? We have already submitted original AOS then why photocopy

(2) Do they ask for any documents of my wife (US Citizen)?

(3) Which original documents they ask for? (Original Marriage certificate, Birth Certificate, photographs, PCC already submitted to NVC)

1. I am sure NVC has forwarded all the originals to the consulate. It is however, a good idea to take a copy of everything to the interview.

2. They will not ask for any of the petitioner's documents.

3. Apart from what you have listed:

a. Passport

b. copy of IL (the security guard wants to take look before they let you in)

c. The DS-260 confirmation page (stamped by the OFC at the time of fingerprinting)

d. Medical Report (sealed envelope)

e. Wedding and other pictures
