I just called the Consulat in Casablanca and actually spoke to 2 people. They both asked me to send an email requesting the change of interview schedule to June and they will get back to me as soon as they can.

I really have a good feeling about this! Hopefully it works and we get an earlier interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully they would accept it without translation and without an apostille. I sent it to NVC and all documents i sent there had translations and apostille.

You mentioned police certificate but i see it is "Unavailable" in their list for Sofia. Your husband had police certificate? Or he had court/prison records which one is in the list?

Yes your right. It's court records. He had to get a new one for the interview because the old one expired in March.

I just spoke to him and he said he didn't get the court record translated for the interview as they read Bulgarian there. And he also said the lady didn't say to get this new document translated. He took it to the embassy at 4:00 today. So now we will wait and see.......

They do return the original documentation(marriage cert) right? I read somewhere that I was suppose to pick up my original documentation from the embassy I am having interview at?

I'm stressing about the tax extension thing. I don't want to get put on AP...for some background, my income is all foreign earned so it doesn't count for sponsorship. on taxes and on the AOS it will zero out. we have a joint sponsor and my hubby will have the sponsor's new AOS and 2013 transcript. So technically my info isn't important but I'm worried that if I send my husband with the extension form and approval, with a letter of explanation for my 2013 taxes, they will delay us until my taxes are filed. Thoughts? I emailed the embassy but no response yet.

I filed for extension as well and planned on just bringing that with me. I'm using assets for support since my income is foreign as well.

I also filed an extension.

BUT, when I received my interview email, it asked for the following:

*** IMPORTANT *** Interview Reminders

Applicants may need to bring an additional police certificate to the interview. If the following three

items are all true, the applicant needs to bring an updated police certificate to the interview:

He or she is more than 16 years old;

He or she obtained a police certificate more than one year ago; and

He or she still lives in the country that issued the police certificate.

Bring this interview letter to the medical exam. Bring this letter to the medical examination because the

panel physician may need to review it before performing the examination.

Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of

Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal

income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview.

Petitioners are not required to attend the applicant's immigrant visa interview. Facility size and/or

security concerns may limit who may accompany a visa applicant during his or her visit to the U.S. Embassy

I interpreted that as I needed to file 2013 taxes (just to be on the safe side). I'm planning to be at the interview with my wife even if I know they will not allow me in the consulat, and we are planning to fly back together. SO I don't want to take the chance of AP for 2013 taxes.

I filed as HOH and I will amend when she gets here.

I could be wrong in my interpretation, but I just can't take the chance.

I interpret that as "if you filed for a 2013 extension, bring your extension letter and your 2012 taxes". My extension is good until October 2014. I'm not going to do my taxes yet, it's too freaking complicated and I just don't have time.

Nice! We live in Thuan An right near the market. Since august 2012 I got to go to vietnam 3 times. This is the longest ive been away. 9 months and counting eeeek. But ill be back in July! Im so glad Hues airport re opened due to construction. I had to fly to da nang and taxi to hue which is like ~3 hrs the last time I was there.

This is an advance warning for those with interviews coming up in the coming days and weeks. If your 2013 tax was filed as Single, there is a very high probability of your application being put into AP until you (your petitioner) fix that error. So it is a much better idea to submit a 1040X and change your filing status to anything but Single (MFS, HOH, MFJ ) and carry a copy of this with you along with your 2013 Tax Return.

In the embassy did they restrict any stationary items like files and folders. Would I be able to carry a wedding album in?

Do not take the whole album. Just take a few (maybe no more than a dozen) pictures of the wedding showing - parents, family, friends, priest, special events like - mangal sutra, garland exchange, ring exchange, sindur etc.
