I'd love to ask a question of all you VJ brothers and sisters...

To what extent do you and your partner share the work on your IR-1/CR-1 process? Does the USC do most of the work or the non-US citizen? Do you share it equally?

Of course, there is no right or wrong here! I'm just curious.

My disclaimer: I'm the USC, and I have done 95% of the work. The reasons? I've already done my OWN process for a Permanent Residency Visa for Australia, and I'm more familiar with the paperwork. I had to get a Police Certificate from the USA, Japan and Hong Kong. I've already had to "prove" my relationship for the Australian visa, so I knew how to gather and organize all the civil documents and other proofs. My partner does not enjoy email, chat or forums, and I love them. We chose to use an attorney in New York City, not too far from where I live (about two hours away). And, of course, it was easier for me to hassle the NVC for info!

How about you?

Sukie in Oz

I'm the beneficiary and my husband is the USC. I did probably 95% of the work, largely because I can tolerate such paperwork and bureaucracy without losing my mind. My husband doesn't have that kind of patience for it  Plus the fact that I spear-headed the Immigration process when my husband came to Canada, so it seemed familiar enough.

It was 2 months before I found VJ, as I was crazy busy getting my affairs in order for the potentially 'quick' move ahead ( ) I had also followed/studied the Canadian immigration forums when he was coming here. No other forum compares to the activity and response-success that I've seen here!

"If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you."

"Life is not what it's supposed to be. It's what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference."

Beneficiary - Applying for CR1/IR1 (but also played the K3 card prior to understanding it may be phased out.)

Yes, i did gave them a call but it was automatic case update when u enter case number and then same answer --- AP (nothing more)

I don't knw what options to choose to talk to a operator....

They do say such things on embassy and DOS sites that don't contact us till 60 days after interview if u r in AP, but how can i just sit idle and don't do anything (when i have already waited for 15 months for this ridiculous process).

I have gone through tons of docs and posts online in these 2 weeks..... and found out that i have around 95% chances that CO has put me into VISA CONDOR check

I have worked in Malaysia (i work for a IT company and it was transfer for project work) for about 1.5 years late back in 2008-09....... and this country falls in list of 26 countries (that are listed as T countries)...

Though i got PCC from Malaysia last December when i was about to submit packet IV, still i guess they want to do some background checks (as its normal for these countries)....

these VISA CONDOR checks generally complete in 30 days or in 2-4 weeks....

As already discussed, i have seen a similar case as mine and it was approved in 2 weeks after AP........... thus i am assuming May be i can get my visa issued in next week............. though i can't be sure as AP is kind of a nightmare..... but then nothing in my case is fraud or wrong, i have given all the correct info for all my entire stay in different countries (all from my employer side).......

Yeah they took your passport so I think its a short delay. Hopefully this week should be a good one.

Prayers
