Hi visa journey family. I checked me email this morning and my husband was scheduled for interview in Lagos on July 7! praise God!

But I just looked at embassy info on visa journey and now a little confused. I did not get packet 3 just packet 4. Am I supposed to get packet 3?

Also, it says under embassy info that we will need to pay 36900 naira visa fee to schedule interview but it's already scheduled? I did not see anything in letter about paying fee

Also in this letter it says police certificate is good for a year. I know in the past I read 3 months so this may be a new change??? Just FYI

We have made it thus far, just don't want to mess up now! So if anyone can clarify, thanks very much. And if you have any tips to offer thanks

You are a IR1/CR1 married that information doesn't apply to you. You paid all your fees at NVC. Packet 3 is for the K1 folks.A

l you need to do is now get interview letter printed use that to go to medical no appointment required. And just prepare for your interview and relax.

Once you pick up Visa you can pay the $165 Visa processing fee on the http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis site.

You don't HAVE to pay this before you arrive to US but know no green card will be produced and you will rely on the stamp in passport for your temp green card until you pay the fee,

Congratulations again on the interview I did add you to the spreadsheet.

Thanks dwheels and nigeriaorbust. Do you know if that visa processing fee can be paid with credit card in my name? It's says the immigrant should pay the fee but my husband does not have United States credit card or bank account. I guess we can wait until he gets here and then open bank account if we cannot use my credit card

the fee is not due to be paid until after the interview

but even then - not need to pay it until they arrive in USA

and it's easier for the USCitizen to set up the ELIS account - make the payment - monitor the progressing.

We've an ELIS topic floating around somewhere - check it out when you have a lull...

as to packet3/4 - that was handled at NVC - because of the visa type.

Other visa types do packet3/4 with the Embassy IV Unit - so I can understand that confusion.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Dwheels76 or anyone else that knows

Does everyone ( ir1/cr1 married and fiancée visa) pay 240 visa fee at Nigeria consulate? I am looking at info in visa journey under Nigeria embassy and the last line mentions this visa fee. Thanks again

Okay you are asking two different things. Fiance Visa (K1) have their own path and IR1/ CR1 spousal Visa path goes through NVC. I told you you already pay all your fees at NVC.

If K1 folk are reading this your path after you get Case# you pat at GTB bank go online schedule your interview and follow the steps on the website.

The website has nothing about IR1/CR1 that's current. NVC handles evertyhing. As NVC has case completed you you are done with fees. The $165 fee is to create your green card. That's it.
