Congrats!! did your status message online reflect your approval or did it just arrive in the mail as a pleasant surprise?

Actually I never checked the online status lately. Last time when I checked, it displayed that the case could not be found.

Well ... it was a bit of surprise for me as I was scheduled for the 2nd biometric.

I called the call center yesterday and asked why this is taking such a long time. Their answer is that it takes from 6 months to 1 year to remove the conditions. Mostly because they have to verify each document and contact third parties (i.e. Pepco, IRS. etc.) to verify the reality of what was declared in the application. Sometime this is a quick process, other times it takes longer to get answers. The asked to keep the 1 year extension together with the expired green card (always!) and that the extension is 1 year because the process can take 1 year. Anyway, the customer service representative was very kind, helpful and wanted to provide all the information available. Let's have faith!
