After almost 14 months at USCIS and NVC, we finally have CASE COMPLETE! And as it's my birthday, I have one more reason to celebrate!

I talked to Bruce (?), very nice guy, he told me they are still scheduling for July interviews and so there was a chance I will get one. Don't know if he just said this to be nice on my birthday, but let's hope he says the truth.

I got a false check list the day after my AOS was approved, so I would assume it takes about day whether it's real or false.

Several VJ members have stated that they will count the date of your first submission.

But how did you send your civil documents in without paying the IV invoice. You are required to attach the cover sheet after payment of IV fees to the civil documents package.

You may want to call the NVC to see what they will do now!!

I was told by Alena at NVC I could go ahead and send my civil documents using the AOS cover sheet. I just changed it from MR to DR but they both go to the same address. Since it is taking 30 days for them to review the documents and I waited 2 weeks after paying my AOS to send them in. Hopefully it will work...

I don't want to call yet either, because I know they're not at the 16th yet. Tomorrow night I plan to call. Unless some more people post up to date Agent info :-D

Same here...First DS 261 completed 9 May and second 31 May!! My AOS package received 19 May. Still can't pay IV invoice although I sent my civil documents in and they were delivered today (but not scanned by NVC yet). When I called NVC last week, alena said my new DS-261 date was 31 May but said that did not affect the IV invoicing...after a year of working on this I am so tired and know I still have months to go...I just don't know what to believe anymore.

We are on same track... Today called to NVC they said will take 30 business days to review and proceed the next step.. hope will get very soon..

Wow. That's pretty good news if they let you do that!

Does anyone else know if we can do send our civil docs first and then pay the IV fees? I'm finding that a bit hard to digest. They keep contradicting themselves at the NVC.

Are the folks in the invoicing and DS-261 sections at the NVC asleep now? I submitted my DS-261 over two weeks ago and still no IV invoice.

Anyone know if the problem is that I chose no agent and want them to invoice me? Or are they just taking a really long time these days. I'm thinking at this point I'm unlikely to get an interview until August, or even September if they keep dragging their feet like this.

VJ friends, another VJ member sent in their civil documents before getting the IV invoice and IV cover sheet (they are saying the NVC told them that is ok). Is that something that we should contemplate on doing, given that our IV fees are not ready yet?

Would they even bother reviewing our civil documents if the IV fees have not been paid?

I also remember someone (I believe it was LoveMyTico) stating the civil documents go to a different department. I personally wouldn't do it, unless someone can find it in writing that it's perfectly okay to do so.

These are original documents and I would be very hesitant to take the word of a contractor, especially when we all so frequently get different answers to the same question every time we call.

Yea, it's a little odd that they would say to use the AOS cover sheets. The AOS barcode corresponds to the $88 paid for AOS processing and the IV processing fees are totally separate. Maybe the operator was just trying to help speed things up?

If that's the case what's the point in the IV cover sheet?

I'm going by the NVC 'scanned' date. I'm following the date of where NVC says they are by people calling and asking and of course, reporting back to this thread :-)
