Can anyone else chime in here? Baltoro claims he did not fill out a DS-261 yet still got his IV fees. Is that even possible??? The IV fees are dependent on your DS-261 being reviewed and accepted from what the wiki says.

They probably had an attorney if both fees were available at the same time, and that is also why they did not need to submit the DS-261. Applicants without an attorney must submit the form.

Question, my husband sent me all the documents which are the following: Marriage certificate, birth certificate, police letter, a copy of the passport bio page and he sent me 8 pics 2x2 just in case. I am getting ready to send my IV packet sometime next week. The original documents are in Spanish, he got them translated and everything. So am I also supposed to send the SPANISH version with the English one attached, or just the English one? I am not sending my originals though, I am sending them copies.

Yes, that was the case. I was confused when they told me I didn't have to fill out DS 261. I had let go my lawyer go after he made mistakes in my i-130 but they still had him on record. They just removed him on phone on my request. I have tried to be very quick and I don't want to get checklist and I am still worried about checklist since I got it at I-130 due to lawyer mistake. I want my wife here soon!

What did you ask about DS-261? It is not important form, I didn't even submit it. If they have your email on file which can give them over the phone, that is all for DS-261. Keeping checking for IV fee and than 260 will become available when you pay that.

I mean DS261 just set you up for email communications so its important but there is no processing for it. If they have your email on file, you are all set with it.

As another member asked, do you have an attorney/lawyer/legal representation attached to your case? The DS-261 is REQUIRED for everyone who does not have legal representation. The DS-261 is NOT for email set-up, it's to choose an agent. Those with an attorney/lawyer have that legal representative already automatically assigned as an agent, thus by-passing the DS-261.

 They may also be certified copies, but I would send the originals. All original documentation will be returned back to the applicant in their packet after the interview.

I just received the call back from the supervisor confirming my case is complete and in line for an interview. I asked a ton of questions about how they assign interviews. She didn't know much but did say its all done electronically. The embassies provide time slots and the types of visas they will interview for . The queue takes them in order. I had a very long conversation about the nasty operators . She told me to send an email and report them because it should not be like that. So here is the email address. We should all report the nasty ones. LOOK OUT JOY and ARTHUR. I suppose we could also send emails of praise too !!

NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. Attn : P I Dept. ( in the subject line)

also, she told me again, they are finished with the first round of July interviews. She is not sure if there will be a second round. Sometimes there isn't. I told her that I have heard from others that they are still scheduling for July... her reply was that it is a brand new notification and they probably didn't get it yet. I asked about Costa Rica, she said I am one of very few for Costa Rica so I MIGHT get a July interview but it depends on what Costa Rica provided. She was very nice . She would not say yes or no whether I will be scheduled soon. She explained that they just don't have that information available.

So happy to know that your case is officially complete!!! FINALLY!!!

I'll definitely be writing to them, especially about how nice Gus has been.

My heart is broken to know that July interviews are done, I hope something changes. God is bigger than NVC and all the embassies.

Just posted the answer to this in my last post. I don't have attorney at NVC stage and they told me I still don't have to fill DS261. They said just nominate yourself by sending them email which I have done already and they also correct record over the phone. I should be fine right? Please let me know if I need to do something because I really really don't want to get checklist.

Hi thanks for your response :-)

Re-establishing domicile list includes:

Maintained voter registration number (my husband "believed he sent in an absentee ballot, but apparently did it wrong so we couldn't use that as proof)

Newly renewed US drivers license

CRBA's for children

US passports for children

Letter from mother-in-law/joint sponsor stating we will be living with her until we get our own place

Correspondence from schools discussing enrollment of children

Moving quotes from Upack and another local moving company

Job letter from father-in-law stating my husband/USC will be working for him ( wondering if this will be a problem because my husbands current title and field is technical analyst, but his father is a who builds houses. The document states my husband will be an assistant carpenter. Will this be an issue because my husband does something totally different now? He will only be working with his father until he gets a job in his field in the US.)

Maintained social security number
