Hey guys, i went to the US during the NVC stage for 4 days in early May (zero issues at CBP), do you think if i go again end of June it all be an issue due to this trip, it was only 4 days and my wife lives with me in the UK?

No, just take the same precautions as far as proof of ties to home as you have for any other trip. As long as you're within the annual visit allotment allowed by the ESTA you're ok.

just got off the phone with NVC....the operator said they did not have access to electronic processing, so they wouldn't know if the NVC has received anything. The NVC itself is doing the EP doc; once they receive the email, they will review documents, they will respond in 30 days! For DS-261, it takes 30 business to review and to respond. I don't mind the 30 days...but what's the point of reviewing DS-261.....

They said EP and mail-in are about the same time... :ranting::protest::sleepy:

Thank you Saylin! I'm a bit of a newbie to VJ :-)

No problem! :)

important Q!

my husband is going back to the US so his address is going to change and he's gonna start a new job.

Just tell them at the interview you have some updates to tell them. They'll fix the forms right there for you.

I called the NVC last night and spoke to May/Maya. It was hard to tell. I asked her about the DS-261 and she said it is taking upto 30 business days to review. She stated that they're swamped and working hard to review files in a timely manner. Not sure what that means.

The DS-261 literally has 6 lines. It wouldn't take more than a few seconds to review it. Geez...

I just received the call back from the supervisor confirming my case is complete and in line for an interview. I asked a ton of questions about how they assign interviews. She didn't know much but did say its all done electronically. The embassies provide time slots and the types of visas they will interview for . The queue takes them in order. I had a very long conversation about the nasty operators . She told me to send an email and report them because it should not be like that. So here is the email address. We should all report the nasty ones. LOOK OUT JOY and ARTHUR. I suppose we could also send emails of praise too !!

NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. Attn : P I Dept. ( in the subject line)

also, she told me again, they are finished with the first round of July interviews. She is not sure if there will be a second round. Sometimes there isn't. I told her that I have heard from others that they are still scheduling for July... her reply was that it is a brand new notification and they probably didn't get it yet. I asked about Costa Rica, she said I am one of very few for Costa Rica so I MIGHT get a July interview but it depends on what Costa Rica provided. She was very nice . She would not say yes or no whether I will be scheduled soon. She explained that they just don't have that information available.

In few days time if you check USCIS website with your receipt number, it will be stated when your case was shipped to NCV. After 10 or 12days call NVC to know if they have received it, then wait another 23-30days to get Case Number and IIN.

What did you ask about DS-261? It is not important form, I didn't even submit it. If they have your email on file which can give them over the phone, that is all for DS-261. Keeping checking for IV fee and than 260 will become available when you pay that.

I mean DS261 just set you up for email communications so its important but there is no processing for it. If they have your email on file, you are all set with it.

Can anyone else chime in here? Baltoro claims he did not fill out a DS-261 yet still got his IV fees. Is that even possible??? The IV fees are dependent on your DS-261 being reviewed and accepted from what the wiki says.

Ok, at least now you know for sure you have CC!!!!!! phew!!!!!!!

Last month they were still scheduling up to 15 May for June, so I'm pretty sure YOU WILL GET your July interview!

Casablanca Morocco was scheduling on 15 May for June, and Casablanca Morocco is very busy! so just sit back and relax, your July interview is coming (praying for you)!!

Good luck
