NVC Filers - June 2014

I just finished the call to NVC, asked them about my IV Invoice. The old man very nice to explain to me something( I said "old man" because I guess on his voice ). At first, my IV Invoice will be available no later than this week as he can write a note or do something in my casefile. He said IV Invoicing now takes longer than normal due to backlog. For those who submitted DS-261 twice or more and nothing changes on the form. He said that is website error and NVC knows that. They process on the first submit if the form is the same. He answer that when I ask which date I counting to 30 days......So, in my case, I counting from May 8( first submit) but he assured as I wrote above, maybe he is a supervisor . And the second, AOS and IV. He said today NVC reviewing the package that has been scanned into the system on May 9 and a bit 12. My AOS package scanned on May 20, he also said I may have update on AOS Package in the end of next week.

FYI : I dialed 38 times and on hold for 72 mins

Oh dear, does that mean we need to resubmit the whole packet and use I-864 long form?

Well you may not have to. They may just want the whole form again with the correct answer. Sometimes the answer is correct and they still want the whole friggin form again. I would send them glasses but they can afford it on their own. Get paid more than I do for sure!

Wow... Super helpful agent. Not! She sounded half asleep, poor thing, and I don't blame her since shift is almost over. Anyway, no interview date. That's cool. I'll try again on Friday lol.

Your very welcome I'm happy I could help, If you mean your name being changed on the taxes, I have no idea but I think it's simple. I think I read it a couple of nights ago, hopefully someone can help you with that. If it's the documents I can ask my husband then post it here where to go for what etc. But I'm sure your husband knows that and for most you have to go to Cairo for. My husband did go to the Egyptian Ministry the US website puts out and they told him they don't to what the Embassy says for marriage certificates. So I e-mailed the Embassy and am waiting for the scanned copy to send them. Funny they actually responded and asked me for the scanned certificate. I fell almost honored hahahaa geez what do you do when they are civil. If you need that info I can post it here or send it to you privately what ever you wish. But remind me I'm going batty after all this stress.

Thanks! What I meant was that my tax preparer filed my taxes as head of household and I wanted to know if or how that would affect things in the NVC process. About the docs, my husband already got them and did everything before we initially filed the i-130. He had to go the US embassy in cairo and get the marriage certificate (along with english translation) certfified (all they did was punch some holes in and have it signed by a high end person at the US embassy. Unless ur talking about something else we need along with the marriage certificate let me know so my husband can start working on getting any additional docs. And the embassy has been good to me when I sent them email and I emailed them in Aug 2013 right in the middle of the revolution and curfews and when it was closed multiple times (got replies withing 2 days) so be hopeful and they'll answer soon this whole process is tidious and very stressful which is why i think at this point we are more impatient than when we started Hang in there and God willing soon we will all be reunited with our loved ones. Also send me msgs anytime with ur progress (feel free to private msg) its nice to find someone thats going thru the same process for a spouse in the same country ?

yep yep that was my prediction, to call around June 13th we're on the same page, my last package has been scanned on May 20th

The tax person put me as head of household. Is that ok? If not, what steps do I need to take to file an ammendment? Do I go to my tax preparer and have them fix the error? (Although i will pay extra close attention before signing anything) and approx how long does the ammendment take to process or get completed?

So freaking annoyed...I wonder if it's going to take 30 days for me get my IV invoice.....seriously, I'm sick of reps telling me the same old story over and over for anything I ask them...they should name "30 day center" instead of National Visa Center..ughhhhhhhhhhhhh

I was trolling other VJ forums this morning, and I found out that Australians have been having the same problem I had (more than one PCC required for Australia - which is NOT true) for over two years. It appears they have never corrected their reviewer instructions. This is very depressing!

We are on the same boat!! I resubmitted the DS 261 without any changes original submitting was 14th May and resubmitted on 22nd May that because of new site... I have been waiting for 2 weeks for IV invoice.. what should i do? Can i call to NVC or need to wait few more days??

Same here waiting on VI invoice for weeks, made the mistake to resend the DS 261 with a change (did any one help you filing this form, Husband translated) a week after. I was just making sure I did not missed anything then it showed not completed... So I re-did it. I guess that will send me back another week.
