OK, folks. It's official!!!

CASE COMPLETE AS OF JUNE 4!!!

:dancing: :joy: :dancing:

AND, I must have good luck - I never had to speak to either Joy or AH-thur!!!!

Jim was the bearer of good news. He didn't even ask me "What can I help you with this evening?". He cut right to the chase and told me the case was complete!

Then, when I gently pushed, he read me the standard line about interview scheduling and it depended on how busy the consulate was, blah, blah, blah. But he told me he loved being able to tell people good news!!!!

Now....waiting on interview scheduling....

For those of you waiting - it does appear that an "N/A" under "Affidavit of Support Fees" is a positive indicator of case complete. My package explaining that the checklist item they wanted was 1) not required and 2) not available was scanned in on May 9th.

Sukie

Sukie!!! solo happy for you!! congratulations!!!

Tomorrow is 2 weeks since we sent in our AOS and IV packets. I don't know if I should even bother calling to see if there's an update. The uscis and NVC websites should start with a message "abandon hope, all he who enter here." It worked quite well for Dante and his 9 circles of hell....just sayin...

I was talking to a few other VJ members and we realized that on some of our I-130s there was an Alien Registration number above our spouse's name, and on others (like mine) there wasn't. I was just curious if anybody knew why. Not an important question, just curious. Tried googling it, couldn't find an answer.

Thanks for sharing this! Im currently waiting for NOA2 but was reading thru this to prepare for the NVC Process. My husband is Egyptian also and he got his police certificates from his local village in like 5days. Also about the tax situation, my tax person also didnt put i was married after i explained my situation!! ?? what need to be done to correct it?

Thanks for any advice.

Your very welcome I'm happy I could help, If you mean your name being changed on the taxes, I have no idea but I think it's simple. I think I read it a couple of nights ago, hopefully someone can help you with that. If it's the documents I can ask my husband then post it here where to go for what etc. But I'm sure your husband knows that and for most you have to go to Cairo for. My husband did go to the Egyptian Ministry the US website puts out and they told him they don't to what the Embassy says for marriage certificates. So I e-mailed the Embassy and am waiting for the scanned copy to send them. Funny they actually responded and asked me for the scanned certificate. I fell almost honored hahahaa geez what do you do when they are civil. ;) If you need that info I can post it here or send it to you privately what ever you wish. But remind me I'm going batty after all this stress. (F)(L)(F)

I'm sorry if I'm asking a stupid question. I just want to make sure. I don't want to have another check list. :(

When responding for an AOS checklist, we know from the operators that we got the income wrong on the I-864EZ form. My husband's total and adjusted gross income is the same, he told me that the discrepancy is that on the 2013 tax income, he was not sure if he's going to put his stocks or not so he left it out and he was thinking that that was our mistake.

Do we have to send the whole packet again with all the attachments or just the barcoded coversheet and the revised form will do?

Thank you very much!

You owe your mother in law big time, lol...I am so glad it was fixed ,what a stupid woman! I had to watch my paralegal with 4 eyes too, in our case we checked everything before she sent the AOS! I fixed the DS-260 because everything was wrong and she basically approved it  . The IV my husband sent her everything PDF perfect ready to email and instead she printed everything so bad and sent it. She included twice my husband information (birth certificate , etc) don't forget is all about the beneficiary(I am the beneficiary). Anyway, she sent my papers too, so I didn't make a fuss about it. I am crossing my fingers now!

Oh yes i do! I do owe her big time and it's not for this reason alone :)

Even through all the mess with your paralegal, I see you are moving on along pretty fine! All the best for a case complete soon!

I wanna do the happy dance for you! :dancing: :joy: :dancing:

Wow it's interesting to hear about all these lawyers (and their staff) who can't seem to get paperwork right. That must be frustrating because I bet you guys paid up front too.

If I had to do it all over again (And I'm super glad I don't!!!) I would do it myself! I told my husband we're not using a lawyer for whatever comes after this! And yes, we paid the full amount up front, including government fees and additional administrative fees! I hate how they make mistakes we would never have made ourselves.

Hi guys,

How do you figure out if your AOS docs have been 'scanned' as some of you are reporting.

I submitted my AOS on May 28. The IV bill is still not showing up. I didn't actually 'enroll' in electronic processing. just sent my docs to their electronic processing email address after the AOS bill was approved. The operator at NVC told me that I was automatically enrolled and could send my documents as soon as the bills were paid.

I called them today and they said it would take 30 days for IV bill to become available...such a drag considering some of the applicants are getting their IV bills in a day or 2 after the AOS bill is processed.

:time:

Also please note that the IV is invoiced off of when your DS-261 is accepted.

You know that items are accepted when you call and ask.

I'm sorry if I'm asking a stupid question. I just want to make sure. I don't want to have another check list. :(

When responding for an AOS checklist, we know from the operators that we got the income wrong on the I-864EZ form. Thank you very much!

If he has income from other sources than the W2 it's possible that they're not liking that you used the I-864EZ.

I wrote "See Attached" for one of the years and attached a letter stating why I didnt file taxes and that income was below threshold that year and didn't get a checklist. So you don't need to "fill out the numbers on the form" ;)

btw so how often is it taking to receive interview email after it is assigned? frankly I'd prefer to never call nvc again if its less than a few days.

We received the interview email the day the assigned the interview date, exactly one week after our Case was completed. I'm not sure how representative that is of other cases, but it's definitely nice not to have to call them!!! And we were only calling once a week (our approach was to call at key times)

(By the way, loved your stats-based predictions. I really like this kind of stuff and hope I can work again with numbers/stats - my immigration ordeal has put me out of my field for the past 3 years, so I don't know if I'll be able to catch up.)

I can't tell you how sick and tired I am of this roller coaster DRAMA FILLED process. One minute I am happy, the next minutes sad, followed by pissed off.. Happy again.... etc., :protest:

I did talk to a supervisor when I called this afternoon. She said she would look into this and call me back.. Well folks... She did what she said she would do. She called me back at 3:55pm on my way home from work. She said sometimes they enter case complete and then it goes to a QC reviewer. Most likely for me because it was reviewed so many times and that incorrect email was sent to me.

Anyway, she told me it will be taken care of this evening and she will call me tomorrow morning around 8am to confirm. She suggested I request an expedite and gave me the email address for that. That was her suggestion, I didn't even think of that. So, I sent an email for an expedite and I will call back tonight to see if they fixed it. I will also wait for her call tomorrow morning because I have learned not to trust anything they say...

As for the mystery mail... she told me that every time they do a supervisor review, it shows up as mail received. I explained that I only asked for one review. She laughed and said yea, its been reviewed alot for that birth certificate.

So I am still technically CC'd but it is sitting on a QC desk for sign off. How eff'd up is this process????? I hope they respond to my expedite. I need to get the hell outta Dodge

and I don't know if this is good or bad but my husband's phone is messed up. He told me last night that the battery won't charge so he has to go into town and get a new one after work. So I feel lost without my " Good Morning Honey" whatsapp message in the morning and my lunch time message and my coffee break message. all this drama and I can't even call him :girlwerewolf2xn: but if they fix the whole thing, then I saved him the stress.

.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. But I really do think it'll be figured out by tomorrow and you'll be good to go.

OK, folks. It's official!!!

CASE COMPLETE AS OF JUNE 4!!!
