NVC Filers - June 2014

The "AOS fee" just changed from paid to N/A on the ceac website. Looks like they are finally looking at our May 9th mail. But I am too lazy to call today. I will tomorrow though (as a birthday gift!)! I would be so disappointed not to receive a July interview though... :-(

Anecdotal evidence suggests that you just got a case complete! I understand the desire to hold off and make it a birthday present though!

I dont get it. Why would they hold up on invoicing the IV fee? I don't see a reason to have both fees invoiced at the same time to begin with. It would be alot easier on them and us, one would think?

Like they wouldn't need to open my case twice ONLY to invoice a fee. Which sounds like a waste of time and effort.

Has ANYBODY gotten IV fees invoiced in the last 2 weeks? Because if not, it suggests not just a controlling of workflow, but, as Austin suggested, a serious problem with the new interface on the website.

About my Ds 261,

I called again just now and I talked to (Liliyan a super super nice lady),,,,she told me that they have my DS 261 but it shows that it was done on 29th of May, and when I gave her the date and the confirmation number (April 24), she put me on hold and told me the supervisor updated the date and I should get the IV invoice with in 3 days or so,,,,

DS-261 form is finally available for me to fill out!

However, I'm thinking about waiting until I receive the email from NVC just to be on the safe side.

Some people have reported here that they filled out the DS-261 form, but it doesn't show it's been filled out.

Maybe we shouldn't fill out the form too early?

If they don't invoice the IV fee, people can't get the barcode to send the IV package or fill out the DS-260, and therefore NVC can control the volume of documents it has to review

Ok, I am not lurking any longer. I need help people...We just got this email from NVC but I want to confirm if is a false checklist:

For electronic processing, all forms and documents that we request and require from you should be scanned and e-mailed to NVC as Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. The documents should be sent as attachments with your e-mail response and not in a web file. NVC is unable to process documents submitted in web files. Forms and documents should not be mailed through the postal service. The applicant must present all original forms and documents to the Consular officer at the visa interview. Failure to present the required originals at the visa interview will result in a denial or delay in obtaining a visa for the sponsored applicant. Any questions regarding your petition should continue to be directed to NVCElectronic@state.gov.

PLEASE NOTE: No interview will be scheduled until ALL of the information requested has been emailed to the National Visa Center.

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The National Visa Center received your DS-260 form. We are waiting for the traveling applicant’s supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation.

To view which documents the applicant must submit to the NVC, please go to our website immigrantvisas.state.gov.

Probably a good call... that does seem to have caused problems. You'll probably get the email tomorrow. If you haven't gotten it by Friday, I'd go ahead and fill it out.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a false checklist - they're asking for the whole package and you've already emailed it in. When they get to that day's emails, they'll process it.

Exciting, though! You're getting there! Keep us posted when you find out that they've "received" your IV documents - it'll give those of us going the EP route an idea of what to expect!

This would be a nice birthday present indeed! After 14 months, all I need is a CC and a July interview! Fingers crossed! Best of luck to everyone!
