Anyone know what date they are working on right now? I believe they were at 5/8-5/9 yesterday? Can someone confirm?

Yesterday they were at 5/6 (or 7). We got our civil docs ok, scanned 5/6 (or 7)

BACKLOG =JOB SECURITY

and yes, the USCIS got their act together ( kind of) and started approving in 5 months . There was such a backlog of petitions a while ago. Remember when we were all sent to the NBC to rot ? I spent 7 months on a shelf at the NBC before they transferred me to the TSC from HELL. only to spend another 5 months rotting away. DACA and Provisonal waivers got the best of us. Its a poorly run organization.

If they delay the IV invoice, then their system doesn't look broken. They can just say " we are backlogged due to USCIS sending more files than usual" . Kind of like what the VA did to not look bad with the appointments. They had a secret list...

The AOS fee is invoiced automatically when a case number is assigned. The IV fee is manual as it's dependent on the DS-261 being reviewed and accepted.

Well, I got my case number 12 days ago, but I still can't fill out the DS-261 form or pay the AOS fee. :bonk:

I agree. It seems to be a deliberate delay in issuance of the invoices so that they can manage their workflow. Given the current rate of approvals at the USCIS, NVC's working overtime might not be enough. They are probably understaffed. I read on one of these threads that they were given a larger budget this spring to possibly hire more temps. I hope that's true.

Hello Saylin,

I got an email to send a corrected AOS to my husband at the time of interview as the case has been completed. My father is my joint sponsor and my mother signed I-864A as a household member. She is a house wife and does not have personal income and files joint tax return with my father. She put the household income (which is only my father’s income) in line 11 of part I of I-864A. Now they are asking for 2013 Tax Return or a statement why she did not file the tax.

My question is this can she send the same tax return that my mother and father file jointly or zero income in line 11 with a letter of explanation that she does not have personal income.

Thank you,

F*** the budget, we pay our fees, we expect them to be effective.

Thank you,

Why was an I-864A even filed for your mother if she's not contributing any income? You're just creating more paperwork for yourself and the officers...

Good morning all,

Question, when do I get my first correspondence from the NVC? I just talked to them today and they said they received my case yesterday. My husband is in the Philippines and I'd like him to get the medical done with, cuz' he has additional procedure to go through due to some medical problems. From Saylin's info, he can get a medical as soon as I receive the first correspondence. What would be the first correspondence be? And do I have him schedule the medical and go? Thank you!
