Oh God! We didn't know about this. Then if he filed an amendment how long will it take to finish the process? Can he get a copy instantly? If not then how about the AOS needed in NVC, can we submit first the copy of his SINGLE tax return and I'll just bring the copy of the amended one in the interview?

I changed mine for 2012 last week it take's around 10 weeks although my accountant said 4 weeks. My 2013 is HOH If i get a checklist for 2012 i should have it.

You're accountant should have given you a copy. I would include it in your file with a letter of explanation and i am sure they will ask you to bring the original at the time of your interview. Just relax. It is something that you can fix easily

I don't know how long amendments take as neither my husband nor I have had to file one.

When you fill out the amended form, just make a photocopy before mailing it to the IRS and then just include the photocopy with the tax return you were to submit. Include a letter stating your husband filed as single, but realized his mistake and sent in an amendment.

From what I've heard, after amending filing status, the tax transcripts online won't change, so basically what you'll be sending to the NVC is what the embassy/consulate will see as there will be nothing more to bring. So, hopefully you'll be good and they'll understand the mistake.

My accountant gave me a copy of the ammendment. After a few weeks I will request from the irs the tax transcript (if needed for my case). The same with you. Send the copy to nvc with an explanation letter ... after a few weeks you can request from the irs the trandcript you want. Which you can have at the time of your interview.

I've completed the DS261 on May 18 and after a month and a week, I've got IV invoice.

I've sent them two emails and my husband has called one time. We've got the invoice the day after the call. I hope it helps, don't worry. =)

I would think they should have received it by now although case number will not be assigned yet. But they seem to give 30 days to anyone asking anything and when that does't work out than its 30 business days. Maybe you just have to wait a little longer. When I was looking at timeline, people were getting approved thier AOS and IV in couple of weeks now i am waiting for a month and no word yet.
