Precisely, -- our timeframe will be 16 months by the time we have a CC and then the prerequisite month wait for the interview. Hence, the "going on 16 months" for our application process to be complete.

And as the processing at the NVC seems to adhere to the 30 day rule, I'm fairly confident in my declaration of 16 months to completion.

I hope you get a CC next month. 16 months (to an interview appointment) is a long time to wait! :wow:

However, I believe someone just posted that his case took 17 months (until the interview) and he didn't even get a checklist or RFE!

Nope, first time! Kind of excited! Although, doesn't feel like I'm going yet. My husband and I had planned a trip last year to DC and his work training ended up getting cancelled, so we didn't end up going. Which I guess was fine in the end (besides having to take a $200 cancellation fee), since the government decided to shut down the week we were going to go anyways, lol. But, I guess I'm just waiting for his training to be cancelled this time too. I'm sure it'll start to feel real though once I'm on the plane in a little over 14 days ;)

Oh, and of course I have a couple of spreadsheets for the trip to help with my planning ;)

Hey guys! On June 11, 2014 we got the interview letter and on it it had the following:

You must bring the following items to the visa interview:

? Any original documents the NVC requested that you did not submit (refer to the document list below)

? If the physician gives you your medical exam results, bring them to your interview in the envelope sealed

by the medical office.

? Two passport photographs measuring 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) with a white background

? A valid unexpired passport

? Photocopies of all civil documents

? A new police certificate from your current country of residence, if you obtained the police certificate

more than one year ago.

? Any additional documents listed in the U.S. Embassy or Consulate specific interview guidelines

The following table lists the documents requested by the NVC and whether or not you submitted them to the

NVC. Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are

still required to bring the original document to the visa interview.

Refer to the Document Status Code Definitions on Page 3 to determine the meaning of the document status

codes.

Document Name Document Status

Are these things I need to get so that my husband can take to the interview in July??

Thanks in advance!

The interview letter is divided into separate sections. The one I highlighted in all red tells you what you must bring to the interview (in general). Another section lists all the docs you may have already submitted to NVC along with one-letter codes next to each document (also highlighted in red). There is a third section that gives you the definition of each of these one-letter codes. For example, code "O" next to "3 - BIRTH CERTIFICATE" means you submitted that doc to NVC and NVC already sent it to the embassy.

Please read the letter slowly and carefully again. If you follow the letter you should be fine.

Good luck and congrats!

LOVE the timeline idea!

I can see why the excitement is reserved somewhat. Given that it's summer at least you don't have to worry about the government shutting down this time lol I hope nothing gets cancelled and tour flights aren't delayed! Are you flying straight through or do you have to stop in Minneapolis first?

I doubt his training will be cancelled, last one was just a fluke as there was low enrollment. But, as you said, I'm reserved. Hopefully it passes soon! And yes, hoping nothing gets cancelled, both our flights as well as some of the tours I've booked (Pentagon, US Capitol). Even have a request in to tour the White House (should be finding out this week sometime if we got a date)! And the small airports here in the Dakotas never fly direct anywhere. There's always a layover somewhere (Minneapolis, Chicago, etc). So, yes, we'll be having a connection in MSP. Which is fine by me because I LOVE that airport :)

The Minneapolis airport is my favorite by far! I'll stand on the roof and wave when you fly in (I only live a mile from there) LOL

I remember having to stop in Fargo once to re-fuel because Minneapolis was having one of its infamous June flash flooding rain storms! It was a tiny airport.

I hooe you get good news from The White House! Slip a note under someone's door about this NVC nightmare! :-D

Haha. I'll be landing (as long as there's no delays) in MSP at 8:25am on the 14th ;) I'll keep an eye out for you :P

Yeah, Fargo isn't that big. Just a few terminals. Still larger than the tiny airport in the town I moved from in South Dakota. Only had ONE gate/terminal. Yes, just one. Same thing in Aberdeen, SD. Just one gate/terminal. I had never seen such a small airport before. If you even would call it an airport

And I'll keep that in mind if I get to go on tour in the White House ;)
