That would be pretty sweet if they are reviewing packages up to the 5 jun as that would imply they are starting to clear the backlog.

Just a word of caution (and I really do hope it's being reviewed, as I don't want to be bursting any bubbles) I called and was told my AOS and IV were under review the day after my IV packet was scanned. I asked if this meant someone was physically looking at it now and she told me "of course, that's what review means." I called back and someone else told me that docs are put into a status of review until they are assigned to someone, so no-one was physically looking at my files.

Good luck though.

I agree. They tell you it's under review from the day it was scanned and "it takes 30 days for the review to be completed"

I know what you mean, but only the thought gave me the creeps!:rofl::rofl:

Haha, I apologize! :P I know for those that have been waiting as long as most of you have been, the thought of waiting even longer to simply avoid a process in the future is ridiculous!

Question to EP folk (and I suppose non-EP folk that know :P): is it for sure you don't need to send any more optin/enroll emails? I don't see it mentioned anywhere on NVC's site, but I'd like to know that operators are saying this too. Plus personal experiences would be even better.

I'm planning on updating my EP wiki today or this weekend. I've been wanting to change the format to resemble more like the NVC process wiki (with each step getting its own section) as the current format seems a little off to me and cluttered or something. So, at the same time, thought I'd go through the actual wiki and update anything necessary, such as needing to enroll.

I am doing EP and many times that I talked to agents, they mentioned that you don't need to send EP request any longer due to the waiting times. Two agents that I also talked recently mentioned specifically that they don't respond with an auto-replay anymore to your emails. I am not sure if is the right way to do because I don't know if they got my last email with my missing document. :ranting:

Got my IV Bill today. Just paid it.

I had submitted my DS261 on May 30th so I guess they are about 3 and a half weeks behind in processing paperwork.

I had initially submitted the DS261 about a week earlier and then had made the dumb move of clicking on the "Complete" link next to DS261 on the online site. Reset my paperwork by a week. Do not ever click on that button once it shows up as COMPLETE...

My DS261 date is 28may for another case ,but still fee is not invoiced.

Checklist was scanned 5 jun and today morning they told me that they opened my response and now its under review

Like other have said, this is their typical 'under review' response. I have never seen NVC giving more details than this, 'it was scanned into the system at this date and it is being under review'.

They do email when the AOS invoice and DS-261 are available. I've heard of people having luck getting into the site before the email, I did, but only a couple of mins before the email so think it was just coincidence I logged in when I did. If you are getting error messages, this is normal (checks Saylin's wiki for more detail on the first post in this thread). If you wanted to double check the Invoice number I'd just call back each day and say that you think you've been given an incorrect case or invoice number can they please confirm it. Some of them don't like giving out the Invoice number over the phone though. Whatever you do, make sure they have both your email addresses so you both get notified of the AOS invoice and DS-261 form.

Oh, one last thing, your case number and Invoice number will be on that email.

Just to clarify, the date you submit the DS-261 and the date is shows in their system isn't always the same. For me it was the next working day. That being said it looks like they are reviewing 23rd May - 30th May at the moment. They seem to spend a few days reviewing a specific date range so some people on or after your date might see movement on their case before you, but don't panic about that.

I agree, being together makes all the difference. I'll still find something to gripe about, though. That's only because I have a massive grudge against USCIS LOL

Wouldn't you know it? My blood pressure and cholesterol are actually really low?!

I, for one, am not looking forward to ROC.
For starters, I hate the concept of the cliff at the end of the 90 day window. That's a guaranteed 2 years of nightmares where you wake up in panic not remembering if you've forgotten and missed the deadline. I'll probably check my wife's green card expiry date not less than 10 times.
Then my wife has to travel for up to a year on an expired green card with nothing more than an "excuse note" from USCIS that they may or may not mail on time. Really? You gotta be freaking kidding me! Between USCIS's unequaled timeliness and my wife's ability to misplace her keys, driver license, ATM card, and paperwork like it's her job, what could possibly go wrong?
Finally there's the USCIS documentation and interview process. There's nothing like a lengthy bureaucratic process designed to lift the suspicion of fraud on your part -- for the second time in as many years -- to really make you feel valued as a law abiding citizen and taxpayer!
But then again, considering we're still waiting for CC, ROC can't come soon enough. I take it all back. Bring on ROC! :)

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

To remember to file: set up a reminder on Google calendar or on Apple or something for about 100 days out from the expiration. Also, although it's not guaranteed, USCIS does send out reminder letters. I received one I think a month before my window opened. But, definitely don't rely on this.

As long as your wife has the original NOA, expired green card, and her passport, then she shouldn't have any issues travelling. I went to Canada with my expired green card and had zero problems. I was with the officer for much longer though, but it was mostly him just checking a bunch of stuff on his computer. No serious questioning. And in between travelling, just keep the original NOA in a safe and then have a copy of the NOA on person. That's what I did!

Also, per the interview, it's not 100% guaranteed in every single case. It's not like with the visa process. Interviews for ROC are mostly random or if there's red flags. But, if you are chosen for random, it's basically just a formality at that point to go over documents and such (from what I remember). And the documentation is MUCH less. It's just one form, only a few pages long. Then the few required documents (copy of green card, fee) and then proof of relationship.

Trust me, ROC is a breeze compared to the initial visa process! And as I mentioned earlier, you only deal with one stage: USCIS.
