is there a point calling when you're waiting for an interview date? do you get the interview email a day after it's scheduled?

from what i've seen in the interview thread, you get the case complete email about 10-12 days after your CC. Then after 2-3 days you'll get the interview date. (I'm guesstimating.. i'd be curious to know when you get your interview date)

I got my Case Complete e-mail exactly one week after CC. As dar as interview dates go, they're currently scheduling for August, but there seems to be a long queue. I got my interview date 8 days after CC. I got the e-mail about that the following day.

Hop on over to dwheels interview thread and add yourself to the spreadsheet (if you haven't already) :-)

Congrats on all the case completes!!!

Does anyone know where I can download the DS-260? I tried USCIS and checked Saylin's Wiki, I need to be able to download it so my husband can pre -fill it out. Don't know where else to look. :D Thank you. (F) (L) (F)

Use this :luv:

Hey, I looked in the NVC Wiki and did not see a link to print out the old DS-230 to practice for the DS-260. Do you have a link for that? :)

as above :)

Why use the DS 230 when you can use the DS 260?

Hmm, thought I had the link in there, but guess not! It's in my NVC EP wiki though  I'll update the wiki to include the link. Thanks for noticing that :)

For now though, you can find it here: http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/81807.pdf

Saylin, why not link the DS260 exemplar rather than the old DS230?

Hey Saylin

I tried looking in the NVC Wiki and did not see a link to print out the I864 form to practice Do you have a link for that? :)

Just go to the website for the form and instructions, print it out and practice on that :luv:

Hi, I got a checklist for incompetence of..

I-864

In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...

[x] Item 13.a. You must include your ___2013________________________________ tax and income information.

[x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal

income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead.

The question 13.a. and 13.a.1. on the I-864 asks for most recent Tax Year and Total Income

My question is that I don't have a job so I left that blank and put "*claimed as a dependent on parents tax return." under the question. So what do I write? N/A?

I-864A

Part 1 Information on the Household Member

[x] This section is incomplete. Please answer all questions completely. (If N/A, please indicated in the

appropriate space).

What I left blank for Part 1 was #3. Place of Residence and #12 My Assets...do I put the same address for #3 and N/A's all over #12?

Please help me I want to be done with this case already.

You must put a '0' in there and include a written statement about why you didn't file taxes.

For the next question, there is no number 3 in Part 1. Part 1 is 1, 1.a. -> 1.f.

The Part 2 section on the immigrant is what carries over to the right side of the page, as per the I-864 instructions (linked in the response to the last quote).

ahh.. so you're now talking about someone's 864a - put 'see above' or rewrite the address in Part 1 #3.

And in our case, the person filing the 864a left number 12 blank completely without any issue.

"If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you."

"Life is not what it's supposed to be. It's what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference."

Beneficiary - Applying for CR1/IR1 (but also played the K3 card prior to understanding it may be phased out.)

:ot: Since NVC is now closed for the day and nobody will be calling for several hours, I was thinking of a way to pass time. There are some amazingly witty writers here on VJ and I love stumbling across anyone with a blog. My favourite so far is the one by bdrew612. It has kept me laughing througout this ridiculous gauntlet. If you have time, give it a read!!! http://thelonelynewl....wordpress.com/ I hope this link works and bdrew612 won't mind me sharing!

If anyone else has a blog to share about NVC or immigration please share! It makes me feel better to read other people's stories to know I am not alone :ot2:

I'm a newcomer to bdrew's blog but I find it so inspirational. There is a lot of truth in there. I wish I'd been focussed enough to write a blog, but I didn't expect this process to last this long, so I didn't start one, and fear it's too late to start one now.

On the subject of wit, I'll say goodnight on a phrase my late grandmother used to say whenever I cracked a joke:

"If you are as $#itty as you are witty, you'll be in a heck of a mess!" Good night, God bless, Good luck to all.

I agree, if I had the foresight to know how long this process would take, I would have definitely kept a blog or at least a journal. When I started this process 12 months ago, I didn't have my head around the whole process and thought it would be about 6 months, boy was I wrong! I also thought getting our I-130 approved would get us the green card. Jokes on me! After 10 months of waiting, there is a whole other step called the NVC! Wish I had stumbled upon VJ long before I did, I would have been prepared.

I love your grandmother's quote, so cute.

Best of luck!!!

Thanks it was a breeze, I am at the last part. Am I supposed to put yes for both questions?

I am stuck at the social security part

Do you want the Social Security Administration to issue a Social Security number and a card?

Do you authorize disclosure of information from this form to the Department of Homeland Security, the Social Security Administration, and such other U.S. Government agencies as may be required for the purposes of assigning you a social security number (SSN) and issuing you a Social Security card and do you authorize the Social Security Administration to share your S?
