case complete guys :)

so the deal is this -- they are completing my case and sending it to the embassy, but want my wife to bring another copy of the marriage certificate with her. not sure how that makes any sense, but i'll take it

Congratulations! :)

when i look in expedia.com

and search for a round trip from the netherlands to the states it shows me non-stop flights for 1000,- usd. (a person)

when i search on the same date for a one way flight it will cost me 3000,- usd (a person )

do the math !

Try skyscanner(dot)net. I've noticed Expedia doesn't always show you the cheapest, where skyscanner can give you multiple dates and airlines of when it is cheapest to fly. We found a one way ticket to Florida for $300 per person, which is great! You can sign up for e-mails for a price alert on a certain day as well. They only send it to you once a day.

What barcode sheet do I use when I am sending a checklist respond via email? Do I use the barcode when I paid the aos or the letter the nvc sent for the checklist?

For those that are asking about EP enrollment. When I got my case number I decided to sent and enrollment email to nvc inqury and nvc electronics on May 13th and when I called nvc I was told because my country HAS to do EP I don't have to sent the enrollment email for EP because it will automically be enrolled. On June 3rd I got an email from nvc inqury that my case is enrolled in EP and on June 9th I got an email from nvc electronics that my case was enrolled in EP

There's a bar code sheet they send you in the checklist e-mail.

Hello amazing people of VJ!

I am beneficiary.

Especially here in this forum, i always get fast help and recommendation and therefore i decided to post here and get confirmation that i am not missing any papers what are necessary for AOS and IV packages!

Below i have list of papers which i am going to send to NVC soon, any recommendation is highly appreciated!

AOS Package

  • AOS bar-coded cover sheet
  • Completed, signed, and dated Form I-864 from by Petitioner
  • Letter explaining petitioners/Primer sponsors financial situation (My wife hasn't paid any taxes, she was supported by family, therefore letter is about why we dont have IRS or any financial information filled in i-864, just N/A )

Joint sponsor is my father-in-law

  • Completed, signed, and dated form I-864 of joint sponsor
  • 2013IRS tax transcripts of joint sponsor
  • 2012IRS tax transcripts of joint sponsor
  • 2011IRS tax transcripts of joint sponsor
  • Pay stubs from the most recent seven months (December 2013 – May 2014)
  • Proof of Citizenship of joint sponsor (Copy of US passport)
  • Domicile letter and proof (My petitioner, wife is just 19 years old, when she came in Europe for me she was just 18 and since we live together to my country. So my wife explained in letter that bc of her age she doesn't have much property or any strong tie to USA, but we explained in letter very well how we will establish domicile and how our life is going to be) + little proof of domicile docs based on instruction provided by amazing Saylin

IV Package

  • IV bar-coded cover sheet
  • Two (2) passport-size photographs of beneficiary (case number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both)
  • Photocopy of the biographic data page of beneficiary’s passport
  • Original birth certificate of beneficiary, plus photocopy of the birth certificate and translation
  • Original marriage certificate, plus photocopy of the marriage certificate (Apostille)
  • Original police certificate, plus photocopy of the police certificate and translation
  • Original military certificate, plus photocopy of the military certificate and translation
  • Proof of ongoing relationship
    • Photos
    • Skype chats
    • Gift invoices
    • Passport stamps
    • Flight and hotel confirmations
    • Joint Bank account statement

Thank you guys for spending your time for helping us!

Wish you best and soon in USA

Aos Package- Your wife hasn't worked in Georgia has she? Because if she has, she is still required to file a US tax return with the IRS. If not, then that's fine. Are any of her family members still claiming her on their tax returns though?

What type of proof do you have for domicile? - Hopefully it's enough to suffice with the CO at the time of interview. If you used Saylin's example of ways to show proof, or re-establishment that's a good step.

For IV -

Sounds good, have you double checked the website for your country to make sure that's all the documents they require?

If not, double check to be safe :)http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/GG.html#docs

Hey guys quick question, do we buy one way flights for our love ones or does it have to be round trip. This might be a dumm question. Anyone?

Doesn't matter, whichever is cheapest. If you get a round-trip, just cancel the return part after you get to the US (unless there's a cancellation fee, then don't worry about it :P)

If you have the bar-coded sheet from the checklist letter, just use that. Otherwise, if it's a checklist for the AOS, use the AOS bad-coded cover sheet. If it was a checklist for the IV package, use the IV bar-coded cover sheet.

Is it ok to send AOS and IV packets even the status of the billing is "in process" as long as it was deducted in your bank account? How about the bar-coded sheet which is supposed to be included in the packets? Coz I've noticed in some of the signatures of our VJyers here that the day they sent their packets came first before their billing status changed into "PAID". Anyone please?

Preferably, it'd be good to wait until it shows as PAID, but as long as it was deducted from your account, you should be okay.

And you can print the bar-coded cover sheets as soon as you pay the bills.

For IV: Yes i double checked it and i have all of them. I checked IV package list by Country specifications.

AOS Pakcage: Yes her mother claims her on tax return --- So do we need to do anything about it ?

Domicile: This is what about we are stressed, I think all we have in AOS and IV packages are perfect except Domicile. We dont have much domicile honestly and i am trying to figure it out and i need your help guys how to improve it.

First of all we tried to explain our condition in letter, like she is just 19 and that after finishing high school she left USA and lives in Georgia. We tried to write how we are going to establish domicile, like she will start university and i, beneficiary will start working there. Now i have good work, i am in Oil sector of Georgia and i have high chance to get office work through my in laws help. My wife went in USA 2 months ago to make everything ready for us when we will go in USA, like she ordered furniture for our room and clarified how we will get car, and tried to make living place ready for our arrival in US. It was all we did, about proof what we have is only:

• Maintained my XXXX voter registration

• Maintained my bank account at XXXX Bank

• Maintained my US PO box

• Voter registration card showing permanent US address

Even i am not sure how my wife will get all those from another continent.

I want to mention:

My wife doesn't have assets in USA, no personal bank account (her account is expired and also is under her fathers account), expired gym membership, no car, she finished school and after came in Georgia so we dont have University paused or something like it. She voted first time when Obama won, but i dont know how we will get registration certificate, her PO box is registered under her uncles house.

I know everything is very complicated therefore i am freaking, i think we have chance to gather proof how we will establish domicile.

I have car and selling bc soon we will have visa i hope, i have work which i need to cancel, i have bank accounts i am going to close most of them (credit cards and debit where i get salary). But here is another problem i am planing to do all 1 month before interview not right now when i need to send AOS package which contains domicile docs.

Just i hope, NVC will take into consideration my wife's age and it will be explanation why she doesn't have much proof.

I am sorry guys for such much text i am sure it bothers to much people but i couldn't write it shorter. Any advice will be extremely appreciated.

Is your wife by any chance a doctor? On 15th September actually the match applications go for residency that's why asked :) I would miss my one whole year in my career if I don't reach by 15 sept there which is close to impossible right now.

Yes, my wife is a physician, but she has already done her residency and fellowship. So, this position (and others) are not tied to a Sept. 15th start date; however, the question is how willing the clinic will be to wait on her if this gets delayed any longer. The crazy thing is that we've been in the NVC since Feb. You would think that they could get us through by Sept. But, in the process, I've learned that it's truly a mug's game to try to forecast when we might have it in hand. It's next to impossible to try to plan your life (moving, jobs, etc.). I've recently written to my state senator in Colorado and I've requested an expedite on our case, but don't really know if it will mater.

Not every country is eligible for EP. If your country isn't one of them, you have no other option but to use snail mail.

case complete guys :)

so the deal is this -- they are completing my case and sending it to the embassy, but want my wife to bring another copy of the marriage certificate with her. not sure how that makes any sense, but i'll take it

CONGRATS! !!! FINALLY !!!!!

They will not send anything to you. If you need to bring another Marriage Cert... you have to get another one. (unless they gave you a CC and sent your file to the embassy and something was leftover at the NVC, then they will mail it to you)

These people are just ridiculous... Glad you finally got through !!
