Timeline

My wife has a job waiting for her with a start date of Sept. 15th. When I sent in our AOS and DS-260 in early Arpil, I though she would for sure have a green card by Sept. 15th. That was before they lost my original AOS, then I had to resend AOS on May 22nd and now still waiting for them to upload and review. Ridonkulus! Anyway, I have a supervisor review working on it and I've requested expeditious service. But starting to get worried that my wife will potentially lose her job if she doesn't have green card in time.

Is your wife by any chance a doctor? On 15th September actually the match applications go for residency that's why asked :) I would miss my one whole year in my career if I don't reach by 15 sept there which is close to impossible right now.

You can, though I would strongly advise against it. If you haven't looked into DS-260 form closely, then you will be shocked how detailed it can be. Chances are, you'll come across a question or two that you want to amend your response with supporting documents, which you should include in your civil documents package.

Makes sense, thank you.

Most airlines will "recompute" your fare for this. They call it "throwaway ticketing"

You'll most likely be on the hook for full price. It's best to read the fine print in the ToS before you do it.

What barcode sheet do I use when I am sending a checklist respond via email? Do I use the barcode when I paid the aos or the letter the nvc sent for the checklist?

For those that are asking about EP enrollment. When I got my case number I decided to sent and enrollment email to nvc inqury and nvc electronics on May 13th and when I called nvc I was told because my country HAS to do EP I don't have to sent the enrollment email for EP because it will automically be enrolled. On June 3rd I got an email from nvc inqury that my case is enrolled in EP and on June 9th I got an email from nvc electronics that my case was enrolled in EP

I highly doubt that the lawyer can fill out the entire DS260 without your assistance or the assistance of the petitioner. The DS 260 asks for very detailed information about the beneficiary. What I did was fill everything out and let the lawyer know I was done. The lawyer then went over the information once again (checking for discrepancies against the I-130 I guess) before submitting it. Either way, you will need to communicate with your lawyer :)

Is it ok to send AOS and IV packets even the status of the billing is "in process" as long as it was deducted in your bank account? How about the bar-coded sheet which is supposed to be included in the packets? Coz I've noticed in some of the signatures of our VJyers here that the day they sent their packets came first before their billing status changed into "PAID". Anyone please?

Interview scheduled July 31st 8:00 AM!

hapydancsmil.gifdance4.gifsmiley-dance013.gif happy%20dance.gif

Thank you to all the VJ community for the support and guidance!!! Specially Mrs. Saylin :D

You all rock!!!

YES! Good for you!

OMFG just got the email and checked my IV fee is there yess omg I can't breath lol

Isn't it wonderful, when that happens? So glad for you!

Hello guys, my wife just got her interview scheduled for 8/14 thank god,

Thank you guys for everything. We are f2A weve been waiting 2.5 years, if we can do it you all can. God bless and thank you again

That's so fantastic!!! So glad all your patience is paying off!

case complete guys :)

so the deal is this -- they are completing my case and sending it to the embassy, but want my wife to bring another copy of the marriage certificate with her. not sure how that makes any sense, but i'll take it

You're right! If they give the option, that's totally the way to go! Woot woot!

Ok but I can still send my IV civil documents tomorrow by mail? I have everything ready just need to print the cover sheet.

Your payment will probably show as completed and you'll be able to fill in the DS260 in less than 2 days, so it's not really that long to wait.

That said, I submitted my IV documents immediately after paying... just sick of waiting. My DS260 didn't include anything that I needed to justify with more documents, so no big deal!

Is your timeline updated?

Well, it's all in NVC's hands (or their email inboxes) now!

Filled in the DS260 tonight (thank goodness for the exemplar on the website - I made up a Word document that I could just copy from one to the other... which was a good thing, because it didn't show up as available to fill out until after 9pm tonight (and we were packing to move, so I didn't actually see it until almost midnight). Anyway, I didn't have to think too much about it, just type while looking at my "cheat sheet"!

They have everything - I suppose it's possible that there'll be something they don't like or that for whatever reason, I'll get a checklist, but I've been as diligent as I know how to be, and with any luck, we'll be looking at a case complete near the end of July or the beginning of August - wouldn't that be awesome?

I'm bummed that the ds261 fiasco killed our chances of an August interview - we're going to be in eastern Canada then anyway, and it would have saved us probably $1200+ in airfare and hotels... but there's nothing we can do about that now, so we'll just have to work on making some friends in Montreal we can stay with when we come back in a couple months(!)

Best of luck to everyone, and please wish us luck too!

Hello amazing people of VJ!

I am beneficiary.

Especially here in this forum, i always get fast help and recommendation and therefore i decided to post here and get confirmation that i am not missing any papers what are necessary for AOS and IV packages!

Below i have list of papers which i am going to send to NVC soon, any recommendation is highly appreciated!

AOS Package

  • AOS bar-coded cover sheet
  • Completed, signed, and dated Form I-864 from by Petitioner
  • Letter explaining petitioners/Primer sponsors financial situation (My wife hasn't paid any taxes, she was supported by family, therefore letter is about why we dont have IRS or any financial information filled in i-864, just N/A )

Joint sponsor is my father-in-law

  • Completed, signed, and dated form I-864 of joint sponsor
  • 2013IRS tax transcripts of joint sponsor
  • 2012IRS tax transcripts of joint sponsor
  • 2011IRS tax transcripts of joint sponsor
  • Pay stubs from the most recent seven months (December 2013 – May 2014)
  • Proof of Citizenship of joint sponsor (Copy of US passport)
  • Domicile letter and proof (My petitioner, wife is just 19 years old, when she came in Europe for me she was just 18 and since we live together to my country. So my wife explained in letter that bc of her age she doesn't have much property or any strong tie to USA, but we explained in letter very well how we will establish domicile and how our life is going to be) + little proof of domicile docs based on instruction provided by amazing Saylin

IV Package

  • IV bar-coded cover sheet
  • Two (2) passport-size photographs of beneficiary (case number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both)
  • Photocopy of the biographic data page of beneficiary’s passport
  • Original birth certificate of beneficiary, plus photocopy of the birth certificate and translation

  • Proof of ongoing relationship
    • Photos
    • Skype chats
    • Gift invoices
    • Passport stamps
    • Flight and hotel confirmations
    • Joint Bank account statement

Thank you guys for spending your time for helping us!

Wish you best and soon in USA

This part is not terribly critical, so don't fret. You could decline the offer and your hubby applies in person at an SS office a couple of weeks after POE. You could request SS# in the DS-260 and still have to apply after POE because the POE officer was too lazy to click the right button.

Anyway, I believe you're looking up DS-230. Stop that and throw it away. Look up the 76-pages DS-260 sampler from DOS website. It was posted here a couple of times. Being dynamic, this form is much less confusing. It also includes more questions and automatically excludes others based on certain answers and applicant parameters. The sampler repeates certain sections to account for all dynamic variations, hence the high page count. I studied it thoroughly and prepared sequenced answers on a word file for all of my family members. It took me many hours in preparations, but made the actual form filling time a relative breeze.

Well there you go, I was happy it was only two pages and wondering why everyone was complaining   . Ok I'll go check it out at DOS. Thank you very much your always so helpful. :)(F) (L) (F)
