I just paid the IV fee today. I am ready to send my IV package tomorrow ASAP. Do I need to wait for the DS-260 to become visible or can I just send it in paper form? If yes, is this the right document to send? http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/81807.pdf

Wow how did you swing that. Mine was resubmitted on May 21st and every time I call them I get told to "wait 30 business days"

so the deal is this -- they are completing my case and sending it to the embassy, but want my wife to bring another copy of the marriage certificate with her. not sure how that makes any sense, but i'll take it

yep, scanned in on june 6. but it has not been reviewed yet so i wouldn't consider it as normal processing.

If they were going by original date then you should have argued to process them right away. Did you notice it was incomplete on 05/27? I feel bad for you..I was in the same boat at you. Initially submitted on May 22 and then when incomplete and resubmitted on May 24..nbv got it on may 27. Such a bummer. Still waiting for IV.

I did argue with them and even sent them an email with conformation attached to it that was 3weeks ago, off course still have not got a response to my email and I am sure when I get it will be two late, but what can you do!!

Have you ever applied for a Social Security Number (SSN)? There are two sections the one on the right will be now but the second part

on the right of it.

First part,

box to mark yes or leave blank

Give the number _______________
Would you like to receive a replacement
card? (you must answer YES to question
43a to receive a card)

this part beneficiary would put N/A

then check No since they never had or
traveled to the US?

I think I'm right but afraid of being wrong.

You can, though I would strongly advise against it. If you haven't looked into DS-260 form closely, then you will be shocked how detailed it can be. Chances are, you'll come across a question or two that you want to amend your response with supporting documents, which you should include in your civil documents package.

This part is not terribly critical, so don't fret. You could decline the offer and your hubby applies in person at an SS office a couple of weeks after POE. You could request SS# in the DS-260 and still have to apply after POE because the POE officer was too lazy to click the right button.

Anyway, I believe you're looking up DS-230. Stop that and throw it away. Look up the 76-pages DS-260 sampler from DOS website. It was posted here a couple of times. Being dynamic, this form is much less confusing. It also includes more questions and automatically excludes others based on certain answers and applicant parameters. The sampler repeates certain sections to account for all dynamic variations, hence the high page count. I studied it thoroughly and prepared sequenced answers on a word file for all of my family members. It took me many hours in preparations, but made the actual form filling time a relative breeze.
