For those who've had an interview in Sydney (and are still checking this forum) , -- how long did it take for the Consulate to mail your papers back to you after the interview?

Hello guys, congratulations for all whose case got completed or interview got scheduled!

Yesterday i filled and submitted electronic form DS-261, i received AOS fee payment invoice on email today but when i am trying to do payment system doesn't allow me to get it. (it is usual stuffs, takes time maybe 1 day maybe 2). I did package IV and AOS already, except IRS for what i am waiting still, i will have it for July 6.

My questions are:

1) As i read and know, depending how fast you will submit DS-261 as fast you will get IV Package (invoice for payment). Is it right, if yes how much does it take around after DS-261 is done?

2) Because i need to wait for IRS and therefore cant send AOS Package will it cause delay? I thought, I would get and send IV package around same time (after 10 days) when i will get IRS and be able to send AOS. Maybe no matter how fast you sent AOS, they dont start reviewing case before they dont have IV package received? (I hope so )

I could be wrong but I thought they gave the original documents back at the interview. Perhaps they mail them with our Visa package. I am sure somebody will know better than me.

Ahhh... I'm reduced to begging TV time from my 4 kids. 9 out of 10 I get denied.

Nearly a whole month. And if you get itchy fingers and resubmit DS-261 again because CEAC played tricks on you, the month would reset again. Beware!

Hi msc, -- Yes, I'm talking about the visa package...the papers/visa we have to travel back to the US with.

I'm trying to get time frames from folks who've gone thru the process. I've read thru the interviews on the Sydney site and the times vary. I'm hoping for fresh updates.

Three of us here on VJ, jajaju, snikit15 and me, have interviews on July 1st in Sydney. We'll let you know how long it takes. I'm in QLD, Snikit is in WA, and I'm not sure where jajaju is from...

I don't know the answer to your first question, but your second question - it doesn't matter when you send the packages, they review them separately depending the date they scan them in. Once both packages are accepted is when you get a case complete. It doesn't matter which one you send first or if you send together.

Oh I think we get the Visa package in about 3-5 days. I have heard that from other people plus I am pretty sure I have seen it written somewhere.

I know once we have our interview and get approved the children and I will be out of here in about 10 days.

You can only find out scan date by calling. I can't be bothered calling to find out when mine was scanned just yet, so I am just adding 4 business days. I think the average is about 2-4 business days to scan. When it gets closer to my 30 days, I will likely ring to get my actual scan date so I can start planning when to call to check on my case.

I'm so surprised at how fast the USCIS/NVC process is happening for the latest approvals...just 4 months for some. Don't know if they're getting expedited or the system is less inundated now. Anyway, they are fortunate. And hopefully they realize it...
