Hello everyone, I am awaiting a case complete hopefully pretty soon but am considering change in employer/ department. I took a promotion in April and boy was it the worst decision I have ever made. I am considering going back to my previous position which is not much of a paycut or moving on to a different company completely. My concern is that the ds260 is complete with my current job information. If I make a change will it cause visa to be denied

Yes that's the case number

I just can't believe how fast they were! We were thinking they still haven't gotten our papers and we have to wait for 3-4 weeks to get the case no. like the rest.

I thought so but wasn't sure, thank you doll I appreciate it. When my parents moved to the USA they received a permanent green card there was no such thing as a ten year one. My father just doesn't understand this :). TY again. (F) (L) (F)

Me thinks they get more money that way. :D I think USCIS made me a tiny bit pesimistic (said wiff a lisp ;) ) (F)

The 10 years validity has nothing to do with the GC status (it is indefinite unless you cause it to be invalid), just the plastic card. Anyone knows if the card reissue is free of charge or do they bleed you the $165 again?

No it didn't. Those 13 days were just to get the case from USCIS to NVC, which was relatively fast by the way. NVC issued your case number almost the same day they received your case. I've seen that happen once a month here on VJ.

Are you the petitioner or beneficiary?

If the petitioner: bring an updated I-864 to the interview, recent pay stubs, and a new employment letter. Inform the CO of the change of jobs.

If the beneficiary: inform the CO of the change of jobs. They likely won't care as it's kind of expected that the beneficiary will be quitting their job anyways.

The 10 years validity has nothing to do with the GC status (it is indefinite unless you cause it to be invalid), just the plastic card. Anyone knows if the card reissue is free of charge or do they bleed you the $165 again?

[...]

Do you mean if you lose the card or for the 10 year green card?

If you lose the card and need a new one, it's more than $165. You need to file an I-90 and it'll cost $450.

If you mean a 10 year green card, through ROC (from an expired 2 year card), then it's $590 (file I-751).

And if you mean replacing an expired 10 year green card with a new one, then it's $450 (file an I-90).

I meant regular renewal after 10 years, but OUCH. We're a family of six! I better start saving for that. :o

And just to be safe, I'm gonna stick those GCs with crazy-glue on my kids until they get their own jobs or naturalize.

Hey guys i was wondering how do most people get offered the chance to bring a missing document to the interview instead of having to send them. I wanted to know if you guys think i would have a chance in getting a supervisor review for my aos checklist i mean it was only missing the last page which only applies if i had a lawyer or someone else fill out the i-864 which i didnt so basically its a blank page im sending in witg n/a. What do you guys think? Im asking because everything else is approved.

So dissapointed. Called NVC and my expedite request was denied - they couldn't give me an explanation. This whole process is the worst thing ever. My husbands Russian visa expires September 1st. If we don't get an interview by then we are screwed and the case will ahve to be transfered to another embassy in Africa which may delay things even more. I want to scream and cry and punch things. I feel like we just cant get a break anywhere. :crying::cry::ranting::ranting::ranting:
