Hey, all, now that I've got that pesky IV fee paid (or at least in the process of paying) what's the current wait for the DS260 to be available to fill out? I paid the fee at about 9:30 am pacific time. Those of you who recently paid your fees, how long does it take to be able to click through on the IV application "button" on the ceac website? Will it be today? Tomorrow? When the IV fee shows paid?

Is your timeline updated?

We paid the IV fee yesterday around noon EST. It showed "paid" about an hour ago and the DS-260 became available too.

Congrats ...

I am so happy for you..... :D

Whoopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! So happy for you!

We were able to pay the IV fee today and I submitted our IV documents - we're doing EP so by the time they get into that email the payment will certainly have been processed... I thought about waiting, but then I thought - "EFF THAT!" So I sent off the email into the ether.

Hope there are lots more CCs today and that everyone has a wonderful day (and that Joy and Arthur are taking personal days so no one has to talk to them!)

Thank you!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed for rest of the VJ family!

I am excited that you were actually able to pay your fee! I bet it's a huge relief to be on to the next step.

I must say I find it crazy that the difference between when your DS261 was submitted and mine is one day and those of use with May 21 DS261 submission date are still waiting to be invoiced. They are most definitely slowing down.

Hello.

I'm also joining the joy of those who got invoiced the IV fee today, even if it's not able to pay yet, but never mind.

I have a concern about the IV package, I already have my civil documents in spanish, but do I have to translate them to English? Because in the travel.state.gov page says that translation is required only if the document is in a different language that differs from the country official one, and if that is the case, I know they will require an apostille.

Also do the civil documents in spanish will require one apostille too? That means apostilles for both, spanish and translation documents. What should I do?

Thanks in advance for any answer.

PD: Random thought buzzing in my head; I'm the beneficiary of an IR2 visa, my father (US Citizen) petitioned me in august of the last year, I'm turning 21 this July and I know I won't be able to have an interview before my birthday, I hope one by august, do I have to be worried?

Hi,

I don't know the answer specifically for Ecuador-- it seems as though mostly apostilles are not required, but in the case of Venezuela, where my husband lives, the embassy there requires them for birth certificates. It wasn't easy to find that out, another member here pointed me towards a part of the State Department's website that lists each embassy's requirements. So I would try to find out as much as you can about the expectation of the US Embassy in Ecuador. Maybe post in the regional forum?

My understanding is that while translation is not technically required if the documents are in the official language of the country where the interview will take place (such as Spanish language documents in Ecuador) sometimes NVC has asked for them, and therefore delayed processing of the case until they are supplied. I am planning to send translations of the documents just in case, to avoid delays. I already did the marriage certificate for USCIS.

I think it's the same as USCIS... that there is no specific requirement of translators, that you could even do the translation yourself and accompany the translation with a signed statement that you are fluent in both languages and competent to translate... anyone out there who knows otherwise please correct me.

Good luck!!

Received a false checklist today asking for my checklist item (AOS). Happy to think this must mean they have accepted my IV docs! Now just have to wait for my checklist to be reviewed and hoping for a case complete :dancing: My guess is around July 20th, so still a long wait, but at least it should be over by then.

This gives me hope. My resubmitted AOS was 2nd June, so I am really hoping for an end of August or early September interview!

Timeline

Received a false checklist today asking for my checklist item (AOS). Happy to think this must mean they have accepted my IV docs! Now just have to wait for my checklist to be reviewed and hoping for a case complete :dancing: My guess is around July 20th, so still a long wait, but at least it should be over by then.

In the same boat. July 20th is Sunday... so we have to wait til July 21st.

I was estimating my interview date based on another person (mumbai consulate).. and I think it'll be on Sept 14th. :crying::crying:
