I called on Friday (which was 30 days) and was told that they were working on May 20th and that I should hear sometime this week. I figured I would give them until Wednesday before I called again.

Remember it's 30 BUSINESS days, which (if there are no holiday's) is 6 weeks.

So all this "working weekends" is BS? I thought this would speed them up not slow them down. They seem to have been on the 18-20th May for document review forever!

As far as I'm aware there was only the 1 Saturday worked on May 31st to make up for the holiday May 26th

The last Saturday that saw any action was the Saturday after Memorial Day. They're not working OT and they're not working Saturdays. I think these phone Agents sometimes tell callers what they want to hear. Although, it's rare lately that someone reports in here that an Agent said NVC is working OT.

They have definitely slowed to a crawl. It took my 53 days to clear NVC and I had no check list.

I remember the forums were inundated that Saturday and Monday with people who had received emails on the Saturday and when people called on the Monday were told they had case complete on the Saturday so I'm pretty sure this was the only weekend worked, as I've not seen anyone else having weekend activity since, but perhaps I've missed this.

Hi NVC waiters, today I called for the 2nd time. The first time I called was June 12th, where they said they received our petition on May 21st (it was approved and sent to NVC on May 7th i think). They told me it would take 30 business days from the 21st. I called again today and now they are saying it will take 30 business days from when they started processing it on June 12th ***the day i called initially! What should we do next? I was told by the representative that when things are ready to be filled out online, that we will get an email instructing us to our next step. Have others gotten the same advice?

I was able to get a case number and IIN today thankfully. My husband lives in Japan and will move back to his home country of France at the end of July. We were hoping that he would get an interview by july so that we could do that in Japan, but it is not looking likely since NVC is moving so slowly.

I did receive an email the day the DS-261 and AOS fee was available. I also received an email for the IV fee. I understand you will also get an email for a checklist (real or false). The only time I call is to find out the date they scanned my package, if there's any updates they can provide me in general, and I'll be checking for Case Complete when the time comes.

Ds-261 unlocks Iv fees not receipt and approval of AOS docs...correct?

Thats correct. Remember the date you submitted it might not be the date they are showing as receiving it, you would need to call to confirm that detail.

Our POE to the USA was LAX. As we entered the arrival hall I approached the first TSA Agent I saw and told them my wife was entering the country for the

first time and asked could we enter together. We were told yes and sent to the green card entry area. There we waited for the next available Officer.

I was praying that we would get the right person and that everything would go smoothly.Right as we were about to be called a new person started their shift

and called us over. She asked for our "DO NOT OPEN" packet and seemed new and unsure of what to do next so she turned to look for help and just as

she did her supervisor was there. Each word he spoke had a weight to it as he was helping her with our entry he was on the radio telling many others exactly

what to do.He had the officer take my wife's digital finger prints and photo and then she scanned my and my sons US passport. She stamped my wife's passport

with the arrival stamp and we were then handed the entire packet with her passport and sent to another area where we handed to packet and passport

to another officer who only handled certain visa entry's. We were told to put our carry on luggage against the wall and wait.

There were stacks of DO NOT OPEN arrival packets on His multiple fold out desks and as we sat he took apart our packet and pulled out a few key pages

then disappeared just out of sight. We could hear him stamping pages and entering data for about 5 minutes. He then emerged and asked my wife to come

over and he had her touch the ink pad and took her hard copy finger print as well. He went away again for just a moment and then returned.and handed us

my wife's passport and said welcome to America Mom. We left there got our luggage and went to customs where we were told all first time arrivals have to

have luggage scanned again. Ours was scanned and we were sent through right away and for the second time we heard "Welcome to America Mom"

Some others were having their bags opened and searched as we hurriedly looked for the finish line. Finally we crossed over the line into the general

airport area where we stopped and held hands on US soil for the first time as a family and thanked God for leading us step by step through this Visa Journey.

Lovely experience!!!! Thanks for sharing.

I think it was around 3pm Pacific Time, so about 6 eastern? I remember thinking that I was probably on hold for so long because they were changing shifts.

I still can't pay - hopefully tomorrow. But it's definitely not worth sending a check or money order - not while it's taking them a month to open their fricking mail!

Well, by that time you will almost certainly have been able to pay, and it will even show up as "paid" rather than "in process" probably!

That's awesome! Happy dance for you!:dance::dance:

Yes, thank you. I was able to pay it around 9 p.m. California time.

I need your advice,

What to do? Call them and ask for supervisor? Or wait? Or what else?

you can try talking to a supervisor, but from my experience they will just tell you to wait the 30 business days. sucks, i know.. <_<

Im thinking they would also take a look at your AOS docs since they are already on your file. Though I don't know for sure. I keep dates on everything for my case. Will keep this in mind.
