Is it me or is the NVC actually getting slower?

It's definitely getting slower. I was looking at the spreadsheet yesterday to compare CCs from May and June. In May, the majority of people without checklists had CC in 30-40 days. In June, the only people with CC in under 40 days were expedites, and the average time is taking more like 45 days. There are also fewer cases being completed -- 44 by this time last month, only 28 for June so far.

Here's to WALDO, the nicest NVC phone rep I've encountered.

We need more Waldos in the world. Where are they?

So all this "working weekends" is BS? I thought this would speed them up not slow them down. They seem to have been on the 18-20th May for document review forever!

It seems to be. I also don't think anyone has been told NVC is working overtime lately. Anyone out there still hearing this line from the operators when they call in?

Hello. I have an AOS question which I already posted and someone who processed K3 has answered already. But I need to ask if anyone who has I130 has the same situation as ours.

We are currently waiting for NVC to receive our papers and while waiting I'm bothered because my husband did not file his income tax at all since the last 3 years. Do you guys know what we need to do for affidavit of support and tax information? Please give us an idea. thanks!

What was the reason for him not filing?

Regardless, you'll definitely need a joint sponsor.

My Check List for Submitted Affidavit of Support:

Note: If there is a specific order please make adjustment for me. I want to make sure its perfect not to much loading and not to little. For smooth processing this is my AOS Package.

Ø Affidavit of Support Letter – Outlining what I’m submitting

o Bar Code

o I-864 Signed Application

o Tax Return

§ 2011 Tax Return + W-2 (Copy)

§ 2012 Tax Return + W-2 (Copy)

§ 2013 Tax Return + W-2 + Stock Trading 1099 (Copy)

o Employer Letter (Company Letter Head; Signed by President of Company)

§ Last 6 month Pay Stubs (Bi-Weekly)

Check List for Joint-Sponsor (My Best Friend)

My Check List for Submitted Affidavit of Support:

Ø Affidavit of Support Letter – Outlining what he’s submitting

o Bar Code

o I-864 Signed Application

o Tax Return

§ 2011 Tax Return + W-2 (Copy) + Tax Transcript

§ 2012 Tax Return + W-2 (Copy) + Tax Transcript

§ 2013 Tax Return + W-2 (Copy) + Tax Transcript

o Employer Letter (Company Letter Head; Signed by HR Department)

§ Last 6 month Pay Stubs (Bi-Weekly)

Question will I attach the same I-864 as mines or the joint Sponsor has to create his own? Whereas in Part I before it was my info and this time it will be all his?

Don't forget, for the joint sponsor, you need proof of their US citizenship/residency. Please read the I-864 instructions again as you're missing crucial information and you may have missed something else as well.

Our POE to the USA was LAX. As we entered the arrival hall I approached the first TSA Agent I saw and told them my wife was entering the country for the

first time and asked could we enter together. We were told yes and sent to the green card entry area. There we waited for the next available Officer.

I was praying that we would get the right person and that everything would go smoothly.Right as we were about to be called a new person started their shift

and called us over. She asked for our "DO NOT OPEN" packet and seemed new and unsure of what to do next so she turned to look for help and just as

she did her supervisor was there. Each word he spoke had a weight to it as he was helping her with our entry he was on the radio telling many others exactly

what to do.He had the officer take my wife's digital finger prints and photo and then she scanned my and my sons US passport. She stamped my wife's passport

with the arrival stamp and we were then handed the entire packet with her passport and sent to another area where we handed to packet and passport

to another officer who only handled certain visa entry's. We were told to put our carry on luggage against the wall and wait.

There were stacks of DO NOT OPEN arrival packets on His multiple fold out desks and as we sat he took apart our packet and pulled out a few key pages

then disappeared just out of sight. We could hear him stamping pages and entering data for about 5 minutes. He then emerged and asked my wife to come

over and he had her touch the ink pad and took her hard copy finger print as well. He went away again for just a moment and then returned.and handed us

my wife's passport and said welcome to America Mom. We left there got our luggage and went to customs where we were told all first time arrivals have to

have luggage scanned again. Ours was scanned and we were sent through right away and for the second time we heard "Welcome to America Mom"

Some others were having their bags opened and searched as we hurriedly looked for the finish line. Finally we crossed over the line into the general

airport area where we stopped and held hands on US soil for the first time as a family and thanked God for leading us step by step through this Visa Journey.

[...]

The bolded part above choked me up. So glad you're finally together and in the US. You can finally start LIVING. Congrats :)

So I decided to call anyway today as I had some time. It seems that now they are telling me "oh its 30 business days. I don't know why you were only told 30 days it has always been 30 business days."

So don't get your hopes up that they will do anything about your invoice once it goes past 30 days.

I really should stop calling it is completely pointless, they can never do anything and just change the answer so that everything is always within their timeline.

I share your frustration. Had a horrible day yesterday. Called them and got the same exact answer. Now they have changed their wording and are saying it has always been 30 business days. Have decided to not call and just wait for the invoice. Calling doesn't do any good, rather increases my frustration level. I explained the same that how there was glitch in the system and I was initially told that I would have to go by initial submission date and not re-submission date. She was like "Oh I am sorry whoever told you that is not correct". Some people here had good luck speaking with supervisor after/at their 30 day mark, I certainly didn't.

The last Saturday that saw any action was the Saturday after Memorial Day. They're not working OT and they're not working Saturdays. I think these phone Agents sometimes tell callers what they want to hear. Although, it's rare lately that someone reports in here that an Agent said NVC is working OT.

They have definitely slowed to a crawl. It took my 53 days to clear NVC and I had no check list.

About how long are we looking at for the invoices to be posted? The representative on the phone said they can spend up to 20 business days working on this alone :(

Most recently it's been taking 1-2 weeks (they told me 10 business days) between the date you are assigned a case # and the date you receive your AOS invoice and the DS-261 becomes available. I think for me it was 8 business days.

Between submitting the DS-261 and the IV invoice, the current line from the NVC is 30 business days (6 weeks). :-(
