It's been 18-20 business days for both of my packages, and nvc says they didn't look at none of them yet, but they know it's there. How long more will it take, what do you guys think?

Hey Everyone! Im so happy to have this group to ask questions to thanks for sharing info!

Our NOA2 of I-130 was just approved this week and its being sent to NVC. We are getting all of the paperwork together to be prepared and I have a few questions.

Do we really have to send my husbands original birth certificate? We live in Chile and he is from Brazil so to get another copy or a certified copy would be very difficult I think?

We live abroad so the salary is not the same as in the US. I am $500 under the 2014 income rate that I need to have in order to support him. I need to read more information regarding the I-864 and if i can include my assets, or if he can be a joint sponsor. Can anyone recommend a link for me to read up on?

Also, what is the checklist everyone is talking about, saying "I hope you dont get a checklist"? Can someone link me to the post that discusses this in detail?

Yes you have to send all originals and a copy of them. If he has family still in Chile they can get the birth certificate for him have him send a letter to the family member giving them permission to do so. They can always call the correct department and ask them what they can do under these circumstances. If he was born in a small city I bet it's easier to get. Or maybe a little under the table would help I was born in SA so I know how it works. But then you do have the honest people so you might offend someone. Not every one is corrupt despite what many may think.

Do you have any assets do you own a home, CD's, property of any kind? If not then you need a co-sponsor. Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong on anything I've posted.

The checklist can be something you have to correct or a false checklist either way you need to call if you get one of those and find out for sure. Good luck.

Si su esposo hase $35,000 para hast 4 personas todo esta bien, mas que eso necesita que otra person la garantica.

Porque no le dice a su esposo que venga aqui sera mas facil porque y no soy esperta y muchos aqui lo son pero en Ingles.
