Hello, is there anyway to avoid getting charged so much every time I call NVC? I'm using skype out of country and spending quite a bit of money waiting on hold for so long. I'm calling from Taiwan for what it's worth.

Very disheartening phone conversation with the NVC this morning. 1) Still no IV invoice (they said it should be next week). 2) Although our AOS was emailed on May 21st they didn't actually actually accept it until June 13th, meaning electronic processing saves no time. This means that even once we are allowed to pay and send the IV documents we're looking at 6 weeks from when they are sent before they will get to them. 3) This makes me pretty sure that any hope of an August interview is out and that I am looking at a September interview.

You mean you'll need to wait for up to a month from the email acceptance date (June 13) instead of your sent date (May 21)? smiley-confused005.gif

If so, that's a long time to wait! It's more than 6 weeks. It's 7 weeks!? smiley-sad029.gif

Yes 30 days from the email acceptance date. It is a extremely long time to wait. Looks like old fashioned mailing is now faster than electronic processing. So much for speeding up the process.

I don't think I have any hope of getting an August interview at this point… So I need to decide if I want to be unemployed from July until after I move (whenever that will be) or if I want to sign a contract that commits me to work until January.

So frustrating that the recent NVC delays have forced this decision.

Hi Everyone!

This forum is really great, I am happy that it exists.

This is my 2nd round through the USCIS system. I am a USC and brought my husband to the US in a K1 in 2006 (it took 9 months , expedited and with congressional support!! I hope the time is shorter now.)

After many years living between the US and Chile, we decided to stay in Chile for employment reasons. My husband is a LPR, but unofficial my abandoned his status in 2012, when his re-entry permit expired.

Now,we have decided to sell everything s d move back to the US!

Which means starting the process over via I 130

We are waiting it out in Chile, until we get done kind of confirmation from NVC that the visa is in process

We have two small children, both USC so we just need to petition for my husband

I am a little concerned because I sent the package on May 27th, from Patagonia (think end of the earth) via UPS

The package was signed for on June 1st, but I haven't received my NOA :(...

Has anyone else filed recently from Chile???

I was ignorantly certain that the process would go quickly as my husband was a LPR until recently

What are other people's experiences with the process, filing from abroad?

Does the Chicago Lockbox emit the NOA? If dies it come from a district office???

Thanks and of course GOOD LUCK to everyone!!!!

Viva Chile! I'm SA but not from Chile great people we hold them in great regard :) , I have a friend who's husband is Arab and the process for reentry is relativity short since your husband has passed through this. They always make it longer and more difficult for Arabs and my friend only spent about 3 or 4 months in the process. Good luck to you not that I think you'll need it. :)(F)(L)(F)

This causes major problems for me because I have to leave my job next month if I would like to move prior to January. So its either live apart until January or live without a job for 3 months....

i hear ya!!! oh gosh, I emailed AOS on May 20th, and they asked me to count 30 days from June 11th cause thats the date they started reviewing.... I thought EP is faster than mail-in; but guess not!

This is really bs... they give people stupid checklist to delay other cases....####### is wrong with these people!

it's heartbreaking.... :girlwerewolf2xn::girlwerewolf2xn::bonk::bonk:
