Well I got interesting letter from USCIS. If you guys remember I had written to President Obama for help with my case after trying all other options including local congressmen and senator. Of course my I-130 is approved now but the letter actually claims it was approved one month prior to when they send me NOA2. This is strange because even in this month I was working with my congressman and we were told it is going through 'extended review'. It is all too strange, its a nightmare.

It gets harder and harder to hold it together with every day that passes, and people never seem to run out of painful questions to ask. I hope it's all over for you soon and your husband can hop the first flight when he has visa in hand <3

Rock bottom. I called and spoke to Arthur (who is a JERK by the way) who said we had received a checklist for our AOS package. He kept telling me that my sponsor hadn't included his 2013 income. I agreed that he hadn't, but that was because he had an extension approved on is filing and that the letter from the IRS confirming approval of his extension had been included. All information provided was for 2012. Long story short, I eventually spoke to supervisor Kylie who confirmed that a formal review would be done and to call back tomorrow. I asked whether my package could be reviewed without the need for a joint sponsor given I had satisfied the assets requirement, but she said that I would have to submit a withdrawal of sponsor request to do that.

So I think I'm stuck either way - submit another copy of the IRS letter or submit a withdrawal of sponsor letter. Either way it will add another 30 days. I just don't know whether I should get my aunt in the US to post one of these things today so it's there tomorrow, or if I should wait and speak to the supervisor tomorrow knowing that that will out another weekend between us and a case complete (in addition to the extra 30 days).

Any advice? I genuinely don't know whether the letter from the IRS was included - I sent all information to my aunt and uncle and asked them to add theirs to the package before sending it to NVC.

Separately - got the full Arthur experience when he started the conversation by tearing me to shreds for using Skype and my voice not being loud enough. He must be deaf because no other agent has had any trouble hearing me before. It went downhill from there...

I'm so sorry you had to deal with Arthur. He does that to everyone. My poor wife got him twice. Once he hung up on her, and the second time he did the same fiasco. "If your'e on skype..!" I remember her getting very strict tone and said "I'm NOT using skype!". He must be deaf..!

Oh I'm so sorry about your checklist issues AND Arthur! I got the Skype lecture from him, too.

*sigh*

I hope things improve for you soon!

At the 3 posts above..... :wow:

In the 21st Century we no longer use carrier pigeon or smoke signals to communicate. Very few people I know use their home/landline phones. When I call my husband the connection is always so much stronger through skype. VOIP is a valid form of technology, particularly useful for Global communications. How else are beneficiaries across the world supposed to call the NVC. Arthur is so rude.

I was so upset when I heard about the checklist, I had to divert my emotions in the right direction. I also emailed, http://oig.state.gov/hotline/ and reported NVC for Fraud, Waste and Abuse.

I don't blame you. When they see the tax return and transcripts why does it matter if you enter gross income or total income. If anyone of them was lower than what they require than I say okay that now a makes but in most cases both of these values are similar and above what they require.

If any address field is empty, just use the other address which is given and this is what is implied. Why are you doubling your work by creating checkilst for these issues? This is insane.

Next time they will send you checklist for filling the pdf form on Mac,sorry but you should have filled this on Microsoft windows PC.

Spoke with Terra {don't know if I spelt it right} she said AOS got scanned June 13th and gave the usual 30days bla bla bla. Only God knows when they will finish the review & approve it. Maybe middle of July or even July ending {that's if we are lucky not to get a checklist}.

:wow: This thread is dead! dead-thread-smiley.gif

In other news, called NVC to ask for clarification on what they meant by all my documents are being reviewed. After another very confusing conversation the agent finally explained that shortly after they are "received" they go into a status of "review" but it can take (you guessed it) 30 business days for someone to physically review the file. He said I would 100% get a checklist for the AOS if it was sent separate to the Civil Docs, and if it just asked for Civil Docs or DS-260 to ignore it, but to read it carefully incase they do need something specific. Of course, this wasn't news to me, but his point was "no checklist = no review"

Congratulations to all the folks who've recently had case completes.

It has been a very long process for us (and many others), as we lodged our application in April 2013 and still do not have a CC. The USCIS became heavily burdened at that time because Obama called on the agency to adjudicate a new immigration benefit called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Thus putting all of the I-130's to the back of the line. The young adults (DACA) did not need to to be processed with this urgency, - as they are all living, working and schooling in the US presently. Unfortunatley, this decision caused families and loved ones who were (and still are) processfing I-130's to be apart for inhumane, excessive periods of time. Another ill-advised government decision was to centralize i-130 processing and stop Embassies and Consulates abroad from accepting filings. And then adding insult to injury...pushing all said applications to the NBC. Most of us on this forum experienced being transferred out of the NBC to one the processing centers. Thus causing monumental delays.

These governmental agencies, that are paid for by us, were created to make the lives of ordinary American citizens a little bit better. The current system is archaic, cumbersome and wasteful. And of course, - lacking decent, helpful customer support. Hopefully there will be change soon.

Thankfully, there is Visajourney...And many members on this site, who are willing to take the time and help others out through this process. Saylin's wiki and this forum have been a great help.

And so we continue to wait, going on 16 months. Hopefully, we get our CC soon too.

I understand you completely, our priority date is February 25, 2013...

Good Luck with hope this will over as soon as possible!!!
