Happy to get an email that my AOS checklist has finally been delivered. Hoping they scan it in by the end of the week so I can start my count down. Still odd that the delivery email said my consignment consisted of 5 articles.....Let's hope one of them is my checklist docs!

If I hadn't gotten the checklist, I would be hoping for a case complete this week, but now another month to wait. Not much I can do, but it's funny that tomorrow marks one year since we sent in our I-130 paperwork. I would never have guessed we would still be waiting.

I'm in the same boat. My checklist with marriage and wify's birth certificate got delivered today. Hopefully we'll see CC sooner than 30 days.

Following your timeline :)

Following both your timelines. Our AOS response to checklist was delivered last 11th of June. I'm going to call again today if they have scanned it to their system. I'm really hoping we'll get our case completes soon.

A very odd thing happened to me between about midnight and 2 am Eastern time (afternoon in Australia). I was checking my status via the CEAC site and the page changed!!! Instead of entering just the "type of visa" and "Case Number" - there was another box in between these that asked for the "Place". It's a huge drop-down menu of all the Embassies/Consulates!

I still got the "In Transit" message, so went away for an hour or two. Then I checked the status page again.

The "Location" drop-down menu was gone!!! Methinks they were messing with the site during the night!

Did anyone else happen to see this? You would have had to have been a US night-owl to have caught it...

OK - it's back now. See attached file.

Sorry if this has been answered before but, how long approximately does it take for a Green Card to arrive at the US address after an interview?

And, do you know the Green Card number before the physical card actually arrives?

Thank you! :)

Receiving the green card isn't based on your interview date. It's when you do your POE (and if you've paid the $165 fee before then). It'll vary though, depending on where your POE is and how busy USCIS is. Most people receive it within a few weeks from POE, but USCIS states it can take up to a year to receive (although I don't think I've seen people wait more than a couple of months). Until you receive it, if needed, you can use the visa and stamp received at the border in conjunction as a temporary green card for up to one year.

And the "green card number" is your A number. If you didn't have one assigned to you previously, you'll get one assigned to you on your visa.

I think the GC number is the Alien # which you get printed on the IV stamp from the Consulate. Some people already have their A# from previous cases. Not sure how long the physical GC takes (Some said a couple of months), however, your POE-stamped IV is your GC for all work/travel purposes until it expires six months later.

I do have a question to others: Is the six months expiry date from IV issue date or POE date? My guess is the latter.

Cheer up! Judging from the last few weeks, Tuesday is the big news day of the week.

The temporary green card is actually good for up to one year, not six months. And it's based on when you do POE as it's the combination of the visa AND the stamp received at the border.

If you're bored while waiting for NVC to open ;)

I got California

OK - it's back now. See attached file.

Hmm, weird. Wonder why they would even add that as the country would be obvious due to the first three letters of the case number. They need to focus on more important updates, like referring to package review status and such. :bonk:
